Monsoon has picked up its pace across the country and now its effect is being felt in almost every state. Somewhere the clouds are raining heavily, while somewhere light showers are bringing relief.
But the continuous heavy rain in many areas has disrupted life. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has made it clear that this trend of rain will continue for the next few days. The special thing is that an alert has been issued with a warning of heavy rain in many parts of the country between July 7 and 12.
Heavy rain and storm can wreak havoc in Rajasthan.
According to the weather department, the eastern and western parts of Rajasthan are going to be drenched in rain for the next six days. Heavy rain is expected especially on July 9. Along with this, strong winds, storms and lightning may also occur in many areas. People have been advised to remain alert.
Delhi will get relief from heat.
The weather is going to change in the national capital Delhi as well. There are chances of light to moderate rain in the next six days. During this time, there may be strong winds and rain accompanied by thunder at some places. This may give relief to Delhiites from humidity and heat.
Clouds will rain continuously in North India.
The states of Northwest India – Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Jammu and Kashmir will also see intermittent rain for the next few days. The Meteorological Department has warned of heavy rain with thunderstorms in these areas.
India will also be drenched in rain.
There is a possibility of light rain in the states of South India – Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Yanam and Lakshadweep on 7th and 8th July. Whereas between 9th and 12th July, there may be torrential rains in many places in these areas. There is also a possibility of strong winds and lightning in some places.
Stormy rain warning in India
Northeast India states like Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura may face trouble due to thunderstorms and heavy rains for the next six days. Thunderstorms and strong winds can affect normal life in these areas.
Clouds will remain
overcast Monsoon has a strong hold over Chhattisgarh, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, Jharkhand, West Bengal and Sikkim. From 7th to 12th July, heavy to light rains will continue in various parts of these states. There is a possibility of waterlogging and lightning at some places, so there is a need to remain alert.
Heavy rains likely in western India
Maharashtra, Gujarat, Goa, Konkan and Saurashtra regions are expected to receive heavy rains for the next six days. The Meteorological Department has issued a warning of thunderstorms and lightning in these areas. At some places, the rain may be so heavy that roads may get flooded and traffic may be affected.
According to the IMD, the monsoon is currently active across India and its effect may increase further in the coming days. This system is bringing moisture from the Bay of Bengal and the Arabian Sea and bringing rain across the country. The Meteorological Department has appealed to the people to keep an eye on the latest weather updates and not to take rain-related warnings lightly.
