Heavy Rain Alert: Heavy rains are occurring in many states of the country. Pre-monsoon rains have started in many areas. Rains are expected in many states of North, Northeast, East, Central and South India including Delhi and Maharashtra.
The Meteorological Department has predicted that heavy to very heavy rains may occur in many areas. According to the IMD, rains accompanied by thunder and lightning are likely to continue over South Peninsular India and adjoining Central India during the next 5 days, while heavy rains may occur at isolated places over Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala and Tamil Nadu during the next 3-4 days. Heavy to very heavy rains accompanied by thunder and lightning are likely over Northeast India during the next 5 days and over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim during the next 3 days.
Possibility of heavy rain and showers in Delhi today (Delhi Heavy Rain)
The weather pattern is going to change in the national capital Delhi from today. IMD has predicted that Delhi may have partly cloudy sky with thundershowers on Thursday. According to IMD, the minimum temperature in Delhi today may be 24 degrees Celsius and the maximum temperature may be 41 degrees Celsius.
Pre-monsoon showers in Maharashtra (Maharashtra Weather)
Pre-monsoon weather activities are likely to remain intense in the state of Maharashtra for the next one week. According to a report by Skymet Weather, there may be stormy activities and hailstorms in Vidarbha, Marathwada and Madhya Maharashtra before the monsoon in the month of May. The weather is harsh in many areas of Maharashtra in the beginning of May itself. Pre-monsoon rains with thunderstorms have already been seen in most parts in early May. Now once again the mood of the weather is changing. According to Skymet Weather, heavy rains may occur twice in Nandurbar, Dhule, Nashik, Pune to Sangli, Satara, Kolhapur and Solapur on 15-16 May and then between 19 and 23 May.
- According to the Meteorological Department, Northeast India will be affected by partial lightning and strong winds with speed of 30-50 kmph during the next 5 days.

- Heavy rains may occur at isolated places over Arunachal Pradesh during 15 to 18 May.
- On 14th and 15th, there may be rain and strong winds in Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura.
Rain continues in western India
- Thunderstorms, lightning and wind speed reaching 30-50 kmph over Konkan & Goa, Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada during 14-18 May
- Strong winds could blow.
- There may be rain at different places in Gujarat state on 14th and 15th May.
- On 14th and 15th May, strong winds with speed of 50-60 kmph are expected in Central Maharashtra.
- There is a possibility of heavy rain at isolated places over Madhya Maharashtra on May 15.
Weather of Eastern and Central India
- During the next 5 days, Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Odisha, Bihar, West Bengal and Sikkim may continue to experience rain and strong winds.
- On 14th and 15th May, Andaman and Nicobar Islands may witness thunderstorms, lightning and strong winds at the speed of 30-50 kmph.
- On May 15, strong winds with speed of 50-60 kmph gusting to 70 kmph are very likely over Gangetic West Bengal, Chhattisgarh.
