Hydrogen Train: A big news has come for the passengers across the country. Now you will soon travel in a train powered by hydrogen. Yes, Indian Railways has achieved another great achievement. The testing of the country’s first hydrogen-powered train coach, i.e. driving power car, has been successfully completed at the Integral Coach Factory (ICF) in Chennai.

According to Ravi Singh, this coach has been completely prepared using technology made in India. With this success, India has joined the select group of countries which are working on modern and environment friendly technology like hydrogen train. After Germany, France, Sweden and China, now India has also become a country to be included in this list.

This is the specialty of the train

This hydrogen train has been built with a power of 1,200 horsepower (HP), making it one of the most powerful hydrogen trains in the world. The specialty of this train is that it generates electricity by mixing hydrogen and oxygen, the only by-product of which is water and steam. That is, itThe train is completely pollution freeIs.

It neither emits carbon dioxide nor any harmful gas that harms the environment. Indian Railways aims to achieve ‘net zero carbon emissions’ by 2030, and this train is a big step in that direction.

The design of the train was prepared in Lucknow

This train has been designed by Lucknow’s Research Design and Standards Organization (RDSO). It has been manufactured at Chennai’s ICF. The train will have 8 passenger coaches, which can carry 2,638 passengers at a time. Its maximum speed will be 110 kilometers per hour.first trial run of the trainIt will be on the Jind-Sonipat route in Haryana covering a distance of 89 km. In this trial, the technical capability and safety of the train will be tested. If this trial is successful, it will soon be run regularly.

Railways has set a budget of Rs 2,800 crore for this project, in which 35 hydrogen trains will be built. There is a plan to run these trains on heritage routes like Kalka-Shimla and Darjeeling Himalayan Railway under the ‘Hydrogen for Heritage’ project. This will not only save the environment, but will also make India’s rail travel more modern.
