According to a Times of India report, Infosys CEO Salil Parekh said, “We hired over 17,000 people in the first quarter and plan to bring on about 20,000 college graduates this year.” Parekh said the company has been able to stay afloat by making strategic investments in AI and reskilling. So far, the IT giant has trained about 2,75,000 employees at various levels.

Infosys has earned a net profit of Rs 6,924 crore in the first quarter of the current financial year, which is 8.6 percent more than the first quarter of the previous financial year. In the first quarter, the company’s revenue increased by 7.5 percent on an annual basis to Rs 42,279 crore. During this period, its total operating cost increased by 10.4 percent and stood at Rs 3,850 crore. In the first quarter, the company received 27.9 percent revenue from clients in the financial services sector. This was followed by manufacturing (16.1 percent), energy, utility, resources and services (13.6 percent), retail (13.4 percent) and communication (12 percent).
