Kanpur. According to the proposed schedule of air service to Delhi, now the city will get the facility only on Wednesday, Friday and Sunday. The new schedule will be implemented from 16 to 30 June. Till now, flight facility to Delhi is available from Chakeri airport seven days a week.
Citing technical problems due to heavy load, the airline has decided to operate flights to Delhi only three days a week. However, MP Ramesh Awasthi had sent a letter to the Aviation Minister and said that flights to Delhi should be operated seven days a week.
He had written that the airline is getting a good load of passengers from Delhi. Earlier it was being said that the three-day-a-week flight to Delhi will remain temporarily for three months. However, now the proposed new schedule is from 16 to 30 June.
According to this, on Wednesday, Friday and Sunday, four flights from the city will operate to Hyderabad, Delhi, Bengaluru and Mumbai. On Monday and Tuesday, three flights will operate to Mumbai, Bengaluru and Hyderabad. On Thursday and Saturday, two flights will operate to Mumbai and Bengaluru from here.
The timings of all flights will remain the same as before. This proposed schedule can be officially released on Sunday or Monday. Airport Director Sanjay Kumar said that the new schedule has not been received yet.
Flights decreased instead of increasing
Citizens have been demanding air services to Kolkata, Ahmedabad and other cities for a long time. The demand for a morning flight to Delhi is also quite old. Instead of increasing new flights, the flight facility to Delhi is also being temporarily provided only three days a week.
