Kedarnath Yatra New Rules: Every year lakhs of devotees reach Kedarnath Dham, the holy pilgrimage site of Uttarakhand, to visit Baba Kedar. Due to heavy crowds, many times devotees had to wait in line for hours, which caused trouble in their journey.

In view of this problem, a new token system has been introduced for darshan at Kedarnath temple in the Chardham Yatra of 2025 this year. This system is helping to make darshan easy and well-organized for the devotees.

What is this token system?

The token system in Kedarnath Dham has been implemented jointly by the state government and the district administration. Under this system, devotees reaching the temple are given a token from the token counter near the helipad. The time and number of darshan is written on this token, on the basis of which devotees get entry into the temple. The biggest advantage of this is that now devotees do not have to stand in long queues for hours. They can go for darshan as per the time written on their token and can roam around Kedarpuri in the rest of the time.

Important information about the token system

  • Tokens are distributed at counters about 200 metres before the temple.
  • The scheduled time of darshan is clearly written on every token.
  • The token number is announced through loudspeaker so that devotees can attend the darshan at their scheduled time.

Token system saves time

With the implementation of the token system, it has become easier to control the crowd in the temple premises. From the very first day, this system has saved the time of the devotees and made the darshan process easier. Devotees Shubh Kumar from Dehradun and Dr. Deepika from Chhattisgarh praised this system. They said that due to the token system, they did not have to stand in line since morning and they easily got the darshan of Baba Kedar on time.
