At the same time, many important steps are being taken by the government to develop Darbhanga Airport at the international level. In this regard, Rajya Sabha MP and JDU’s acting national president Sanjay Kumar Jha has held a detailed meeting with the officials of the Civil Aviation Ministry. In the meeting, there was a discussion on making Darbhanga as well as Purnia airport functional.
The process of acquiring 90 acres of land required for the expansion of Darbhanga airport has been started. For this, the Bihar government has approved an amount of Rs 245 crore and transferred it to the Darbhanga district administration. This amount will be used for the work of runway expansion. This effort is an important step towards preparing the airport as per international standards.
Sanjay Jha has said that upgrading Darbhanga Airport to international level will give a new impetus to the development of North Bihar. This will generate new opportunities for business, tourism and employment in the region. Local people will not only get better air service, but they will also get direct economic benefits from it.
