Passport Ranking: In the last six months, India has made its biggest jump ever in the Henley Passport Index. India’s ranking has increased from 85th to 77th. The index ranks the world’s most powerful passports based on how many countries a passport holder can travel to without a visa.
According to Firstpost, India’s progress is part of a trend in which traditionally powerful countries like the US and the UK are gradually falling in the rankings, while countries like India and Saudi Arabia are steadily moving forward.
The information given in the report by Henley & Partners
says that the migration map around the world is changing due to the internal policies of the US and the UK. He said that now American citizens are the most looking for citizenship or residency options in another country, and British citizens are also included in the top five on this list.
As US and UK policies become more limited and inward-focused, people are turning to other countries for better access and security in the world.
US and UK rankings
On the other hand, both the US and the UK have seen their rankings fall. The UK has fallen one place to sixth, while the US is now in tenth place. According to a report by Henley & Partners, the US is in danger of being dropped from the top 10 list for the first time.
