Last date has been changed. According to the new order, till June 30, 2023, you can link PAN with Aadhaar. Now this date has also come close. With ticking ticking, alarm bells are now ringing for 13 crore PAN holders who have not yet linked their PAN-Aadhaar. If someone does not follow the instructions given by the government, then their business and tax related facilities will stop working. Explain that out of total 61 crore Permanent Account Number (PAN), about 48 crore have been linked to Unique Identification Number Aadhaar so far.

Link PAN with Aadhaar like this sitting at home

    1. To link PAN-Aadhaar, first go to the income tax e-filing website www.incometaxindiaefiling.gov.in .
    2. On the left side of the site page you will find the option of quick links, here you have to click on the option ‘Link Aadhaar’.
    3. If you do not have an account, register first. Here you have to enter your PAN, Aadhaar number and name.
    4. After giving these details, an OTP will be sent to you.
    5. After entering the OTP, your Aadhaar and PAN will be linked.
    6. If you have already registered, then after login, select Profile Settings on the page that opens.
    7. Now choose the option of Aadhaar Card Link. Here enter your Aadhaar card details and captcha code.
    8. After this, click on the option of Link Aadhaar below.
    9. Keep in mind that the Income Tax Department crosschecks your details to see if your Aadhaar and PAN information is valid or not.
    10. link your pan card by sms
    11. You can also link Aadhaar with PAN card through mobile.
    12. You will have to link Aadhaar with your PAN through SMS.
    13. The Income Tax Department said that Aadhaar can be linked with PAN by sending an SMS to 567678 or 56161.

Check whether Aadhaar-PAN is linked or not

    • First of all go to the official website of Income Tax Department. After this, click on Link Aadhaar of Quick links option written on the left side. After this a new page will open on the screen.
    • At the top of this page there will be a hyperlink which will be written in English If you have already requested to link Aadhaar, click here to know the status.
    • After clicking on this hyperlink, you will have to enter the details of your PAN and Aadhaar.
    • Click on ‘View Link Aadhaar Status’, in its result you will know whether PAN is linked to your Aadhaar or not. If you haven’t linked Aadhaar and PAN, get it done immediately.

    PAN card can be invalid

Actually, it is necessary to link PAN and Aadhaar for every citizen filing ITR under Section 139AA of the Income Tax Act. In case of non-linking of PAN card, you will not be able to file ITR online from next time. Your tax refund may get stuck, also, the PAN card will become invalid.

Aadhaar card link has to be done under this law

Under the Prevention of Money Laundering (PMLA) Act, the central government has made it necessary to link bank account, PAN card with Aadhaar card. Those who do not do this, their PAN card will be declared invalid. Significantly, since many agencies are linked to Aadhaar, it is easy to find out whether the benefits of government schemes are reaching the right people or not.
