How many passport verifications come every day?
Police verification can be done from home. To get a passport, police verification is sent to the police station related to the passport office. In which information about the person’s criminal history and other information is sought. If we talk only about Modinagar, Muradnagar, Niwari and Bhojpur police stations, then 30 to 40 passport verifications come every day.
What was the rule earlier?
Earlier the rule was that the policeman used to call the person to the police station. The person had to go to the police station and give his documents, photos etc. In this way their time was also wasted, but now this system has been changed in Police Commissionerate Ghaziabad.
Every beat constable has been given the responsibility of getting passport verification done at homes. The beat constable will take the verification from the police station and go to the person’s home, verify it on the spot and submit the documents to the police station. This work has already started in Modinagar Circle.
There were allegations of illegal extortion in the name of passport verification
There were also allegations of illegal extortion from people in the name of passport verification in the police station. Many such cases came to light. In which 500 or 1000 rupees were taken in the name of verification. Now this illegal extortion will also reduce by going to the house for verification. People will get relief. It is discussed that this was also discussed in the police crime meeting recently.
In this regard, Modinagar ACP Gyan Prakash Rai said that the beat constable has been given the responsibility of passport verification. Verification has also started by going to people’s homes. Police station in-charges have been informed about this.
