PNB account holders: Your inactive a/c will be closed from June 1 – Check details

    New Delhi. If you have an account in the public sector Punjab National Bank, then this news is very useful for you. Actually, PNB has issued a warning to those account holders whose accounts have not had any transaction for the last 3 years and there is no balance in these accounts. The bank has said that such inactive accounts will be closed within a month.

    PNB has given this information by tweeting. The bank has issued a notification stating that the accounts will be calculated on the basis of April 30, 2024, that is, the calculation of three years will be done till April 30, 2024. PNB has taken this decision to protect the accounts from misuse.

    PNB has announced that it will close accounts with no activity for the past three years and no balance, unless the Know Your Customer (KYC) process is completed by May 31, 2024. After this date, no further notice will be given to account holders.

    Account will not be activated without KYC.

    The bank said that all such accounts will be closed without any further notice after one month from the date of publication of this information, if the customer does not activate them by submitting KYC documents at the concerned branch.

    These accounts will not be closed

    PNB said that accounts linked to Demat Accounts, lockers with active standing instructions, student accounts with customers below 25 years of age, accounts of minors, accounts opened for specific purposes like PMJJBY/PMSBY/SSY/API, DBT and accounts frozen by order of the court, income tax department or any other statutory authority will not be closed under this process.
