Actually, PNB has issued a warning to those account holders whose accounts have not had any transaction for the last 3 years and there is no balance in these accounts. The bank has said that such inactive accounts will be closed within a month.

PNB has given this information by tweeting. The bank has issued a notification stating that the accounts will be calculated on the basis of April 30, 2024, that is, the calculation of three years will be done till April 30, 2024. PNB has taken this decision to protect the accounts from misuse.

These accounts will not be closed
PNB said that accounts linked to Demat Accounts, lockers with active standing instructions, student accounts with customers below 25 years of age, accounts of minors, accounts opened for specific purposes like PMJJBY/PMSBY/SSY/API, DBT and accounts frozen by order of the court, income tax department or any other statutory authority will not be closed under this process.
