Post Office Account Charges: Many types of charges have to be paid on post office savings account, know here

    Post Office Saving Account: The Indian Post Office has played a major role in providing financial services to the people in the country. Even today, a large population of the country prefers to open an account in the post office and invest in schemes.

    There are more than 1.5 lakh post office branches across the country. Apart from investing in different types of schemes, the post office also provides the facility to open a savings account. You can deposit money in it just like banks and withdraw it when needed. In such a situation, if you also want to open a Post Office Saving Account in the post office, then we are giving you information about the interest rate and different charges available on it.

    Charges will have to be paid for post office savings account

    To avail the post office services, customers have to pay a fee. There are many charges associated with its savings account, about which it is very important to have the right information. If you have to pay different fees for many 8 services like duplicate passbook, issue of account statement or deposit receipt, replacement of old passbook, transfer of account, check bounce.

    Paying this much charge for these 8 services-

    • Rs 50 will be charged for duplicate passbook
    • A fee of Rs 20 has to be paid for issue of account statement or deposit receipt
    • For a new passbook in place of a torn passbook, you will have to pay Rs 10 per passbook.
    • For cancellation or change of nomination, a fee of Rs 50 will have to be paid.
    • A fee of Rs 100 will have to be paid on account transfer.
    • A fee of Rs 100 will have to be paid for pledging the account.
    • In case of check bounce, a fee of Rs 100 will have to be paid.
    • In the savings account, there will be no charge for up to 10 leaves of the check book. After this, a fee of Rs 2 will have to be paid for every page.

    How much interest is available on post office savings account

    All account holders get an interest rate of 4 percent on the savings account of the post office. Also, you do not have to verify your identity if you withdraw an amount of less than Rs 10,000 in the account at once. At the same time, you have to give ID on withdrawal of more than this. You can deposit a minimum of Rs 500 in this account and a minimum withdrawal facility of Rs 50 is available.
