Post Office Scheme : If you want to deposit money in the Post Office Savings Scheme, then now this work has become even easier. The Postal Department has started a new facility from 23 April 2025, in which you can open an account of certain schemes like Monthly Income Scheme (MIS), Time Deposit (TD), Kisan Vikas Patra (KVP) and National Savings Certificate (NSC) with Aadhaar card and fingerprint. In this process, neither any form will have to be filled nor a deposit slip will have to be filled.

    What is this new feature?

Now there is no hassle of paper to open an account for these saving schemes in the post office. You just have to give your Aadhar card and fingerprint. Your account will be opened in a few minutes. This process is completely digital, that is, everything is done through computer.

    How to open an account?

    • Go to the post office and tell the employee at the counter that you want to open an account.
    • They will take your Aadhar card and put your fingerprint in the machine.
    • Your information will automatically appear in the system.
    • Please tell me how much money you want to deposit.
    • Then the fingerprint will be taken once again and the account will be opened.
    • Special thing- You will not have to fill any form or slip. The information you have given will be considered final.

    The paper method will continue

If you still want to open an account by filling a form, then that facility is also available. That is, this new facility is not a compulsion, but an option.

    Aadhaar number will be safe

Your Aadhaar number will also be kept confidential. If the Aadhaar number appears in any document, the post office will automatically blacken the first 8 numbers so that your information remains safe.

    What will be digital next?

Presently the facility of opening the account has been started but soon the facility of closing the account, transferring the account or changing the nominee can also be done through Aadhaar biometric.

Easy for customers, beneficial for post office

With this new digital process, customers will be able to get their work done in less time, without filling any form or standing in queues. The work of post office employees will also become easier. Now if you want to invest money in a post office scheme, then go directly to the post office with your Aadhaar – everything will be done quickly and without any hassle.
