Public Holiday: The Uttar Pradesh and Haryana governments have declared a public holiday on 12 May 2025 (Monday) on the occasion of Buddha Purnima. All government offices in the state will remain closed on this day.
This holiday is included in the list of official holidays of the state government. However, it is listed only as a reserved holiday in the Punjab government calendar.
According to the list of holidays issued by the Bank Union, all banks will remain closed on May 12. There will be no work in government and private bank branches on that day. The list of holidays issued by the Uttar Pradesh Basic Education Council Prayagraj has also declared a holiday on May 12. On this day, there will be a holiday in all government and recognized schools under the Basic Education Council. Apart from this, colleges and higher educational institutions will remain closed.
The list of holidays issued by the Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) has also declared May 12 as a holiday. That is, LIC branches will also remain closed on Monday, due to which services will not be available to customers on that day.
