The work of redevelopment of New Delhi Railway Station of the country’s capital Delhi is about to start. Complete planning has been done for this. It is also necessary to vacate the platform for the redevelopment of New Delhi Railway Station.
In such a situation, trains will be shifted from New Delhi Railway Station to other railway stations very soon. For this, 5 phases have been prepared, in which the work of redevelopment of the station will be done. Some trains from each phase will be shifted to other railway stations.
Redevelopment work at New Delhi Railway Station
Redevelopment work is to be done on all 16 platforms of New Delhi Railway Station. This work will be done in 5 phases. In each phase, 20 percent of trains from New Delhi Railway Station will be shifted to other railway stations. These railway stations include Sabzi Mandi, Sarai Rohilla, Safdarjung, Nizamuddin and Anand Vihar. After the completion of redevelopment work at New Delhi Railway Station, these trains will be brought back to their railway stations.
The work of redevelopment of New Delhi Railway Station can start from next month. A list of those trains is also being prepared which will be shifted from the first phase. This plan has been prepared by Railway Land Development Authority i.e. RLDA. A target of 45 months has been set to complete this work. Apart from the redevelopment of the railway, two buildings will also be built towards Paharganj and Ajmeri Gate. Along with this, a tunnel will also be built for parcels.
