School Holidays: Holidays in primary schools of UP have been extended by 15 more days. Now schools in Uttar Pradesh will remain closed till June 30. Schools in UP are to open from June 16, but the government has accepted the demand of teachers and parents to extend the holidays due to the continuously increasing heat.

The Yogi government of UP has taken the decision to extend the school holidays due to the ongoing heat wave and increasing heat in the state. However, teachers will have to go to school from June 16.

There is intense heat in many states of the country including Uttar Pradesh. In UP too, the temperature is constantly crossing 45 degrees Celsius. In such circumstances, sending children to school has become a cause of concern for parents. In view of the scorching heat, now the teachers’ organizations are demanding the government to extend the summer holidays till June 30.

Schools were to open from June 16

At present, the council schools of UP are closed due to summer vacations. According to the previously announced schedule, these schools were to open on June 16. Now when the heat wave continues and the temperature is constantly rising, both teachers and parents have started worrying about the health of the children. This is the reason why everyone was demanding the government to extend the school holidays.

Teachers’ organizations submitted a letter of demand

In view of the scorching heat, representatives of the Uttar Pradesh Prathmik Shikshak Sangh and Vishisht BTC Shikshak Welfare Association recently met the Basic Education Minister and departmental officials. During this, they submitted a demand letter, in which it was recommended to extend the school holidays till June 30. According to Vinay Tiwari, President of the Teachers’ Union, children may have to face severe heat at this time, which is affecting their health. He said that opening schools right now is not in the interest of children.

A letter was also written to the Chief Minister

The heat is increasing continuously and now the mercury has gone above 45 degrees. In such a situation, opening schools is neither safe nor in the interest of children. On this occasion, teacher organizations put forward another demand. They said that the government has included only 15 districts regarding the transfer policy, whereas teachers should get a chance for transfer in other districts as well.
