Amidst the scorching heat and heat waves, there is news of relief for children and teachers. The dates of summer vacation in council schools of Uttar Pradesh have been announced.
Summer vacations will start from 20 May 2025 in all the recognized schools run under the Uttar Pradesh Basic Education Council, which will last for a full 26 days i.e. till 15 June. After this, the schools will reopen from 16 June.
To whom will the leave order apply?
This order has been issued by the Uttar Pradesh Basic Education Council from Prayagraj and will be applicable to all council schools, recognized schools and schools running under the council. After this order, lakhs of students of the state will definitely get some relief from the heat.
Preparing for private schools
While government schools have declared holidays from May 20, many private schools have declared a holiday after completing their studies on Saturday, May 17. In some schools, students have already been given holidays due to the heat.
The only public holiday in June
In the month of June, a public holiday has been declared across the state on the occasion of Eid-ul-Azha (Bakrid) on 7 June. All government offices, banks, schools, and colleges will remain closed on this day. This holiday is not only included in the holidays of the Education Department but it has also been confirmed by the Bank Union and the District Administration.
The scorching heat became the reason for the holiday
The heat is at its peak in Uttar Pradesh at this time. From the capital Lucknow to Bundelkhand, the temperature has crossed 45 degrees Celsius. In such a situation, a holiday has been announced keeping in mind the safety of children. The Meteorological Department has also warned that the heat wave may intensify in the coming days, while rain and thunderstorms have also been predicted in some districts.
What should parents and students do?
For students, this is a time for study as well as relaxation and creative activities. Parents are advised to protect their children from extreme heat, keep in mind the time and weather before sending them out to play. Also, stay connected with studies during this vacation so that there is no problem at the beginning of the new session.
