
Preparations for the Surajkund Fair have been completed. With just two days to wait, people can enjoy the Surajkund Fair. The administration has made special preparations for the fair this time.
Faridabad: Preparations are in full swing for the Surajkund International Crafts Fair. More than 35 countries have already agreed to participate. Ten more countries are expected to agree by Wednesday. This year, the Surajkund International Crafts Fair will be held from January 31st to February 15th. Uttar Pradesh and Meghalaya have been designated as theme states. Egypt has been designated as the partner country, and the Northeast states have been designated as cultural partners.
The fair grounds are being decorated.
As a partner country, a large contingent of artists and craftsmen from Egypt will participate in the fair. Artists and craftsmen from over 45 other countries are also expected to attend. Work on preparing the grounds for the fair has already begun. Harvinder Yadav, the nodal officer for the Surajkund Fair, stated that the decoration of the fair grounds is in its final stages. So far, over 35 countries have participated in the fair. Approvals from approximately 10 countries are expected within a day or two.
Ban on Begging
Children will not be seen begging at the Surajkund Fair. The fair management has ordered a ban on this practice. According to the fair management, the Haryana State Commission for Protection of Child Rights, Panchkula, has issued necessary guidelines to ensure the protection of children’s rights during the Surajkund International Crafts Fair. The guidelines state that if any child is found begging in or around the fair premises, action will be taken against them.
Buses will be operated
For the convenience of visitors to the fair, buses will operate from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. The department has decided to operate a total of 20 buses. A mini-bus shuttle service will also be available from the Surajkund fair site to the Badkhal Metro Station. These buses will run on schedule from 8:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., greatly facilitating the movement of visitors.
Know the ticket prices too
Visitors to the Surajkund Fair will find tickets for 120 to 150 rupees this time. Tickets will be slightly more expensive on weekends, but tickets will cost between 150 and 200 rupees on weekends. Entry for children under 5 years old will be free. Tickets for children over 5 years old will cost between 60 and 100 rupees. Separate tickets will be required for the rides installed inside the fair.
