EPFO higher pension: According to a report, about 97,640 EPFO members and pensioners are expected to get Pension on Higher Wages under the Employee Pension Scheme 1995.

This report of ‘The Hindu’ said that this number of people receiving Pension on Higher Wages includes 8,401 Pension Payment Orders (PPO) and 89,235 people who have received demand notices.

According to the report, demand notices have been sent only to those who have been found eligible for Pension on Higher Wages (PoWH). Let us tell you that this is being done to comply with the order given by the Supreme Court on November 4, 2022.

What is the option to choose pension on higher wages in EPS?

When an employee has to select the option of higher pension, he chooses the option of higher employer contribution in the EPS pension plan. Note that employees who were members of EPF on September 1, 2014 can choose the option of higher pension. On choosing this option, the extra amount is deposited in a separate pension fund, which keeps increasing gradually due to the interest received on that money. In this way the total pension amount increases.

How to check EPS Higher Pension Application Status?

Nearly 97,000 PF members (Provident Fund Members) and pensioners across the country are waiting to get higher pension under the Employee Pension Scheme 1995. If you are also among those who have applied for higher pension, then you can check the status of your application.

If you have completed the application process by visiting the official website of Employees Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) to get pension on higher wages under EPS, then you must have received a receipt. When you fill the form completely, then a link (URL) is also issued by EPFO to check the status of the application. If you want to check the status of your application, then you can take the help of these steps given below.

The online application facility was started on February 26, 2023, which was extended twice till July 11.

During this period, 17.49 lakh applications were received from pensioners and existing employees to opt for more pension. After this, employers were given time till September 30 to upload the salary details of their interested employees. Later it was extended till 31 December.

EPFO Higher Pension Scheme: If you also want to get higher pension, then you have only time left for today. EPFO has issued a circular regarding this.

Pension News Update: There is important news for millions of pensioners. If you also want to get higher pension, then you have only time left for today. EPFO has issued a circular regarding this. Earlier, the last date to choose it was June 26, but later the government had extended it till July 11, that is, today is the last day for you to take advantage of it. After this, you will not be able to select the option of higher pension.

Many facilities are available from the government

Many types of facilities are provided to the job professionals and employees by the Central and State Government across the country. Now you are getting a chance to choose Higher Pension from EPFO. If you do not select this option today, then you will not be able to take advantage of it.

Who can apply?

If you want to increase the contribution in your EPS by taking advantage of the Higher Pension Scheme, then July 11 is the last date to apply for it. Let us tell you that if you have become a member of Employees Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) on September 1, 2014, then only you can apply for this scheme.

What is the advantage of higher pension?

If you also select the option of higher pension, then the amount you will get after retirement will decrease, but the amount of pension you will get every month will increase. Many experts believe that this pension scheme has both advantages and disadvantages. It is believed that if only a few years are left in your job, then you should focus on the lump sum amount. Apart from this, if there are still many years in the job, then you can select the option of higher pension.

How to apply for higher pension-

>> For higher pension, first of all one has to go to the e-seva portal.
>> After that click on Pension on Higher Salary.
>> Now you will reach the new page where you will see 2 options.
>> Those who retire before September 1, 2014 will have to choose the first option.
>> Apart from this, if you are still doing the job, then you have to select the second option.
>> Details like UAN, name, date of birth, Aadhaar, mobile have to be filled.
>> Now OTP will come on your Aadhaar linked mobile number, it has to be entered.

The post EPFO Higher Pension Scheme: These people will get more pension from tomorrow, circular issued! first appeared on Rightsofemployees.com.

The Employees’ Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) has extended the deadline several times for opting for higher pension under the Employees’ Pension Scheme (EPS), and now it is very close. Now EPFO has told how the calculation of higher pension will be done. Let’s try to understand it…

The Ministry of Labor had told this thing

Earlier last month, the Ministry of Labor had also issued a clarification regarding the calculation of higher pension. The Labor Ministry had said that out of the total 12 per cent employer’s contribution to PF, an additional contribution of 1.16 per cent would be used to calculate the higher pension, which would be in line with the Supreme Court’s November 4, 2022 decision. Along with this, the Ministry of Labor had also told that this step to reduce the burden on the subscribers of the Employees Pension Scheme will be retrospective, that is, this decision will not be applicable from the day of its arrival, but from the back.

This is how pension will be calculated

Now EPFO has explained this in detail. EPFO has said that for those who retire before September 1, 2014, the pension will be calculated on the basis of average monthly salary up to 12 months before the date of retirement or exit from the pension fund. On the other hand, for those who will retire after this date, the calculation will be done on the basis of average monthly salary of 60 months before retirement.

only so many days left

The deadline for opting for higher pension was ending on 03 May. EPFO had extended it till 26 June 2023. Its deadline was extended for the second time. First of all, in an order given on 4 November 2022, the Supreme Court had fixed the deadline till 3 March in this regard. EPFO had then extended the deadline till May 3 to opt for higher pension. Now its deadline is ending on 26 June.

Money will go to pension fund from here

The Ministry had told that along with the Employees’ Provident Fund and Other Provisions Act, it has been told in the Social Security Code that contribution cannot be taken from the employees for the Pension Fund. Keeping this in mind, it has been decided that an additional 1.16 per cent will be taken from the 12 per cent contribution of the employers towards the Pension Fund, which is going to the Provident Fund.

In hand salary will not be affected

Let us tell you that in EPS the employee does not make any contribution on his behalf. Out of the total 12 per cent contribution made by the company, only 8.33 per cent goes to EPS. Whatever amount is more than this in the contribution of the company, it goes to EPF. The Ministry of Labor has clarified that the increased contribution to EPS will also go from the company’s share, which means that there will be no impact on take home salary or in hand salary even if you opt for higher pension.

In this case there will be loss

Although it also has its disadvantages. If you choose the option of higher pension, then the amount deposited in PF by the company will be less, which will affect your PF fund. Employees get the benefit of compound interest in PF. Now since part of PF will go to EPS, the benefit of compounding will also reduce. Similarly, the lump sum amount that is received from PF on retirement or already leaving the job, this amount will also be affected if the option of higher pension is selected.

The post Higher EPS Pension: EPFO issued circular for pension calculation first appeared on Rightsofemployees.com.

Higher Pension Calculation of Dues: Employees’ Provident Fund Organization has issued detailed information regarding the calculation of arrears.

EPFO has told how you will be able to calculate the arrears of higher pension and how much amount will be given to you under this. If someone has opted for higher pension and is eligible, then money will be transferred from his PF account for higher pension. Let us know how the outstanding amount will be calculated.

How will the outstanding amount be calculated?

According to the circular issued by EPFO on May 11, 2023, the arrears amount will be calculated after verification of the salary details given by the employer by the field office and taking care of some things in the process.

Keeping in mind what things will be calculated

The case of each member or pensioner eligible for higher pension of EPFO will be added in a separate file, which will be created in the e-office for clarity of Application ID. In case of exemption, the information about the salary for the entire period and the information with the institutions getting the contribution exemption should be clear. If all the things are not found according to the records, then there may be a problem in getting the higher pension.

[web_stories title=”true” excerpt=”false” author=”false” date=”false” archive_link=”false” archive_link_label=”” circle_size=”150″ sharp_corners=”false” image_alignment=”left” number_of_columns=”1″ number_of_stories=”4″ order=”DESC” orderby=”post_title” view=”carousel” /]

How will the deposit amount be calculated?

The employer’s share of 8.33 per cent on the higher salary will be calculated as per the records.

15,000 per month with effect from March 1, 2014, the employer’s share will be calculated according to the enhanced contribution of 1.16%.

All amounts already deposited in the Pension Fund will be deducted from the sum of the above two.

After all calculations, the interest on the outstanding amount will be the interest earned by the members on their PF.

How will the interest be calculated

For non-exempt institutions, the interest will be calculated at the rate declared under Para 60 of the EPF Scheme, 1952. Further, interest for exempted establishments shall be calculated at the rate declared under para 60 of the EPF Scheme 1952 or the rate declared by the Trust of Exempted Establishments from time to time, whichever is higher. Significantly, EPFO is yet to tell how the higher pension will be calculated. Another circular may be issued soon regarding the calculation of higher pension.

EPFO Higher Pension: To clear the confusion regarding higher pension, EPAO has explained how it will calculate how much amount the subscribers will need to transfer in pension.

However, so far EPFO has not given detailed information about the method of calculation of pension, which will be introduced later.

EPFO will present the calculation formula to calculate the amount of pension received after the retirement of the members. For the time being, subscribers eligible for higher pension will be able to calculate their potential liability including interest payable to the Pension Fund.

Subscribers will have three months

EPFO said that PF account holders will have three months to agree to withdraw money from their account or deposit more amount if the contribution is less. At present, pension under EPS-1995 is calculated by multiplying the average of the actual basic pay of the last five years of service with those years and dividing the total by 70.

Higher pension calculation not clear

The application regarding higher pension has been postponed till June 26. There is a lack of clarity on getting higher pension. Many questions have come to the fore that how much pension the subscriber will get will it be calculated or not? At the same time, pension will be calculated from the old system itself or a new system will be added.

What is the rule of higher pension under the new circular

On the other hand, in the new letter under EPFO, it has been said that when the complete information of the subscriber is found eligible for higher pension, then the subscribers will receive a demand letter from EPFO and will be informed that how much amount and interest will be transferred to them. If there is not enough money in the account, then the customers will have to deposit the same amount.

How much contribution has to be given

To get the amount of pension under EPFO, some part has to be deposited under the PF account. Depending on your contribution, an amount ranging from Rs 5000 to Rs 15 thousand is given.

EPFO Pension Deadline: Members of the Employees’ Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) can apply jointly with their employers till June 26, 2023, by choosing the option of higher pension (EPFO Higher Pension).

They will have to apply for this on the Unified Members’ Portal of the retirement fund body EPFO. Earlier, the last date for opting for higher pension was May 3, 2023, but EPFO has extended this last date to June 26, 2023. So far, EPFO has received more than 12 lakh applications for this.

The Supreme Court had given the order

Earlier, the Supreme Court had said in its order on November 4, 2022 that EPFO will have to give four months time to all eligible members to opt for higher pension. This four-month period is ending on March 3, 2023. This gave the impression that its deadline is March 3, 2023.

What will be the effect on pension?

EPFO had earlier released the complete details of this process. It was told that the shareholders and their employers can jointly apply for higher pension under the Employees’ Pension Scheme (EPS). In November 2022, the Supreme Court upheld the Employees’ Pension (Amendment) Scheme, 2014.

Earlier, the EPS revision of August 22, 2014 increased the pensionable salary limit from Rs 6,500 per month to Rs 15,000 per month. Also, members and their employers were allowed to contribute 8.33 per cent of their actual salary to the EPS.

Employees’ Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) has opened the link on the official portal for higher pension application to the members, through which eligible applicants can submit the application through joint option with the employer.

EPFO has extended the last date for submission of applications for some members to 3 May 2023, while for some members the last date is 3 March 2023 only. In such a situation, you need to know your eligibility and the last date of application because today is the last chance with you.

EPFO Higher Pension Application Last Date Changed Many Times

The Supreme Court in its decision of 4 November 2022 had allowed 4 months for higher pension application under EPS, which was later increased to 6 months. Now it has been extended till May 4, 2023 for some members. Let us inform that earlier EPFO had fixed March 3, 2023 as the last date for applying for higher pension under EPS. But, in view of other problems including not being given online option regarding the application, EPFO has extended this deadline to 3 May 2023 for some members. But, for some members this last date is March 3, 2023 only.

EPFO has given the last date for these members to 3 May 2023.

EPFO has given some members till 3 May 2023 to submit the application. According to EPFO, till May 3, 2023, those members who were members of EPF on September 1, 2014 and continued to be members of EPF on or after September 1, 2014, are being exempted from application till May 3, 2023, but have not applied for higher pension during the earlier deadline. missed applying for The link on the portal for applying for higher pension will be open only for such employees.

Deadline for application for these EPFO members is March 3, 2023

EPFO said employees who retired before September 1, 2014 and opted for higher pension under the pension scheme made their contributions, but later EPFO rejected their applications Had given. Such people will have to submit their application form on or before March 3, 2023, to get higher pension. This is because EPFO has not raised the limit for such employees. EPFO had given guidelines for such employees in the circular issued on December 29 itself. Whereas, in January 2023, EPFO has also issued an online application form for such members.

The deadline for applying for higher pension under the Employees’ Pension Scheme ( EPS ) has been extended. Earlier, eligible members were given time till March 3, 2023 to apply jointly with employers to opt for higher pension, but now it has been extended to May 3, 2023.

This can be done through the Unified Members’ Portal of the retirement fund body Employees Provident Fund Organization ( EPFO ). The URL of the EPFO Unified Members Portal was recently activated which clearly shows the deadline for opting for higher pension as May 3, 2023. Employees got a big relief due to the increase of this deadline. Let us know here what is the matter of higher pension and what was the benefit of increasing the deadline for choosing this option.

What is this matter of higher pension

Under the Employees’ Pension Scheme, the contribution is fixed according to the salary up to Rs 15,000, that is, even if the basic salary becomes Rs 50,000, the contribution in EPS will be fixed from Rs 15,000 only. Due to this, very less money can be deposited in EPS, that is, pension can be made. Now this limit has been increased.

Last year on November 4, 2022, the Supreme Court said that on September 1, 2014, EPFO members can also take advantage of this higher pension option. For this, the court had asked EPFO to give four months time i.e. till March 3, 2023. Keeping this decision of the Supreme Court in mind, the EPFO issued a circular on February 20, 2023, making a provision to do it on the basis of basic salary of the employees instead of 8.33% deduction of the maximum salary of Rs 15,000.

What will be the benefit of increasing the deadline

There are a lot of documents to collect in order to opt for higher pension of EPFO. The deadline was March 3, 2023, so the employees who are eligible and want to opt for this option are in a scramble. However, now with the extension of the deadline, they have got more time to collect the documents.

what is the complete process

Eligible EPS member has to visit the nearest local EPFO office and fill the application. Apart from this, necessary documents have to be submitted. The application form for validation should also contain a disclaimer as mandated in previous government notifications. The data of every application will be digital and a receipt number will be given to the applicants.

Whatever decision will be taken after examining the applications for higher pension, it will be informed to the applicants through e-mail or post and SMS. As per the EPFO order, after filing the Joint Option Form and having any complaint regarding payment of due contribution, one can lodge a complaint on the grievance redressal portal EPFiGMS.

EPS 95 Detail : Employees’ Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) has given its account holders a chance to get higher pension after the order of the Supreme Court. Amidst all the discussions, it is discussed that by taking EPC 95, you will get a strong pension.

This is absolutely correct. It is good to get more pension, but what price will have to be paid for it, that too should be known. We are saying this because whatever pension you will get, it will be from your own money. Government or EPFO or your employer company is not going to give any extra money. Understand it like this – even after opting, the same amount will go to the EPF account as it used to go earlier.

Out of that money, it will be possible to give higher pension only by putting less in your PF, and more in EPS (pension). It is clear from this simple thing that for more pension you will have to compromise with the huge lump sum amount that you can get in PF. So,

The Supreme Court has said that the employees who have opened EPF account before September 1, 2014, will be given the option of higher contribution towards higher pension. Ever since the EPFO has released its guideline regarding higher pension, many doubts and questions are being raised among the employees regarding this.

EPFO has said that soon an online link will also be released for choosing higher pension. Through this, employees can opt for higher pension. However, in the previous news we have answered all those questions which may be in your mind. You can clear all your confusion by visiting this given link – Here , Experts say that PF account holders opting for higher pension may have to bear 5 major disadvantages.

1- The money of PF account will ‘fly away’

The biggest and first disadvantage of choosing the new option will be that the money deposited in your EPF account will be transferred to the Pension Fund. This will also end the benefit of compound interest on your PF account. Actually, under the rules of higher pension, a large amount of contribution made by the employer has to be put in the pension scheme. This means that a large part of the amount deposited till now in the PF account will be withdrawn and put in EPS.

2- No facility of lumpsum withdrawal

You do not get the option of lumpsum withdrawal in the Employees Pension Scheme (EPS). It gives your total accumulated amount in the form of pension. If you want, you can try your hand at other government pension schemes like National Pension System (NPS). Here you get market linked returns and you can also withdraw a lump sum amount. Apart from this, the investment made here gives you a rebate of Rs 1.5 lakh under 80C and a further tax rebate of Rs 50,000.

3- Full money of PF account will not be received

Under the current rules of PF, in case of any untoward incident, your nominee (wife-children) gets the entire money deposited in this account. But, in the case of EPS, in your absence, the wife will get only 50 per cent pension. This means that if you get Rs 20,000 as pension, then your wife will get 50 per cent ie Rs 10,000 only, while the children will get 25 per cent ie Rs 5,000 pension.

4- Cannot retire early

The biggest loss for those opting for higher pension in EPS will be that they will not get the option of early retirement. The benefit of EPS scheme is available only when the employee has retired after working till the age of 58 years or has completed 10 years of service.

5- More loss than less interest

In EPS scheme, you also get less interest. This means that the money you have deposited in this item, you will get less return on it. Instead, you get more interest on your PF account. At present, 8.10 percent annual interest is being received on the money deposited in PF.

The post EPFO Higher Pension: 5 major disadvantages of choosing the new option, low interest and… first appeared on Rightsofemployees.com.

About 25,000 pensioners of the Employees’ Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) are facing the sword of pension reduction. The Retirement Fund Organization has instructed its local authorities to stop paying higher pensions to those who retired before 2014. Along with this, the additional amount given to them under this arrangement should also be recovered. In this regard, EPFO had issued a circular on Wednesday. The organization says that such cases will be reviewed who retired before September 1, 2014 and have not subscribed to the pension facility on higher pay.

EPFO has said in the circular that from January 2023, the higher pension of such pensioners should be banned. After this, their pension will be revised on the basis of salary of Rs 5,000 or Rs 6,500. EPFO has referred to paragraph 11(3) of EPS-95 in this circular which talks about the maximum pensionable salary of an employee.

EPFO has referred to paragraph 11(3) of EPS-95 in this circular which talks about the maximum pensionable salary of an employee. EPFO has said in the circular that advance notice should be given to the pensioner before the pension is revised.

May have to face protest

Social activist Praveen Kohli, who advocates for the rights of pensioners, says that this is the pride of EPFO. He said that the circular is distorting the truth and many information has also been suppressed. According to Kohli, the court had upheld the EPS-95 in 2003 itself and after that the pension of 24,672 pensioners was revised. After this, many other pensioners also got a decision in their favor from various courts.

What is Para 11(3)

In this para, employees have been allowed that you can invest more than the limit fixed for pension from monthly salary. But the employees will have to take advantage of this facility jointly with their employer. This means that before increasing the money in the pension fund, the employee will also need the consent of the employer. Now EPFO is saying that those who retired before September 1, 2014, should not be given more pension if they had not opted for this facility.
