The mood of the weather is going to change once again in many parts of the country. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a warning of heavy to very heavy rains in many states from August 1 to August 6-7.

The pace of rain may increase especially in North-West India, Northeast, Central and Eastern states. Due to continuous rain, waterlogging in low-lying areas and landslide-like situation may arise in hilly areas. At the same time, there may be some relief in South India at the moment as the intensity of rain is expected to decrease here. The Meteorological Department has advised people to be alert and take necessary precautions. There is also a possibility of school closure or traffic being affected in some states in the coming days. In such a situation, people need to keep an eye on the latest weather updates.

Possibility of torrential rains in the states of North India

In North India, heavy rains are expected in hilly states like Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand from 2 to 7 August. At the same time, there is a warning of heavy rain in many areas of Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, eastern and western Uttar Pradesh, western and eastern Rajasthan on 3 and 4 August. The Meteorological Department says that incidents of thunderstorms and lightning may also occur during this period. The risk of landslides may increase in hilly areas, due to which vigilance is extremely important.

Heavy rain alert in Northeast India

There is a possibility of heavy rain in Northeast India as well. On August 2, very heavy rain may occur at some places in Assam and Meghalaya. Apart from this, light to moderate and at some places heavy rain is also expected in Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura between August 1 and 6. The water level of rivers may increase in these areas, which may lead to flood situation.

Heavy rains also occurred in Bihar , Jharkhand and Bengal

Heavy rains are also forecast in eastern and central Indian states like Bihar, Jharkhand, West Bengal, Odisha and Chhattisgarh. Monsoon rains will remain active in these states from 2 to 7 August. Heavy rains may occur especially in North Bengal and Sikkim between 2 and 4 August. In Bihar too, heavy rains are expected in some areas on 2 and 3 August.

Rain with lightning and thunder in plain areas

The plains of North India i.e. Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Rajasthan and Western Uttar Pradesh will continue to receive light to moderate rainfall for the next 5-7 days. There is a possibility of strong winds and lightning along with thunder at many places. Due to this, farmers and common people have been advised to remain alert.

There may be some relief from rain in South India

While the rest of the country is receiving heavy rains, the pace of rains may slow down a bit in South India. Although Kerala, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu will continue to receive light rains on and off, the major impact is likely to subside now.

Due to heavy rains in many states, waterlogging in low-lying areas, road blockages, overflowing of rivers and streams and landslides may occur. It has been advised to take special precautions while travelling especially in hilly areas. The Meteorological Department has also instructed the local administration to remain on alert.

The post IMD Heavy Rain Alert: There will be havoc of rain from 2 to 6 August, red alert in these states first appeared on Rightsofemployees.com.

IMD Director General M Mohapatra said that the maximum temperature will increase in northwest India and central India as the intense western disturbance (WD) has dissipated. This system was very strong and caused heavy thunder and rain in the hills. But now we do not expect any strong western disturbance in the next few days.

The Meteorological Department said that there was also heavy rain and thunderstorm in eastern India, but that rain has also stopped now, so there is a possibility of a rapid increase in temperature there too. Moderate to heavy snowfall was recorded in some parts of Jammu and Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh on Saturday. Thunderstorm accompanied by strong winds occurred at some places in Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit-Baltistan, Muzaffarabad, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Haryana, East Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Gangetic West Bengal, Odisha, Jharkhand, Bihar, North-East India, Kerala and Mahe, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karaikal, Interior Karnataka, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam, Rayalaseema and Telangana.

Hailstorms were also reported at isolated places in Odisha, Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit-Baltistan, Muzaffarabad, Tamil Nadu and some other areas. Heat wave in East Rajasthan remained confined to isolated places, while conditions remained warm to very warm at night. IMD has predicted a significant reduction in rainfall activity in the Western Himalayan region including Jammu and Kashmir from April 21. Meanwhile, a new round of heavy rainfall is expected to start in Northeast India from April 22.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a warning of heavy rains, winds and hailstorms in many parts of the country for the next few days. Especially in Central India and South India, the weather will remain bad till April 5 and the weather will show its fierce form.

The alert of hailstorms and torrential rains with strong winds has alerted everyone. Let us know how the weather will be in which area and what precautions should be taken. According to the Meteorological Department, a cyclonic circulation is formed over the lower tropospheric levels of Central Maharashtra and its surrounding areas. Its effect is that there will be a possibility of strong winds and heavy rains for the next few days. Due to the cyclone, heavy rains may occur in states like Maharashtra, Telangana, Odisha, Madhya Pradesh and Karnataka on April 5. Along with this, there is also an alert of hailstorm.

Possibility of heat wave and heatwave

While there is a warning of heavy rain and hail in some parts of the country, on the other hand, heat is also going to show its effect. Apart from this, there is a heatwave alert in western Rajasthan during 5 to 7 April, where the temperature can cross 40 degrees Celsius. This high temperature can have a bad effect on health, so it will be necessary to be careful.

The effect of rise and fall in temperature

The Meteorological Department also said that there is a possibility of an increase of 3-5 degrees Celsius in North-West India, which is likely to increase the heat. At the same time, there may be a drop of 2-4 degrees Celsius in Central India and Maharashtra, but after this the temperature may increase by 2-4 degrees Celsius during the next 4 days. These changes will not only affect the weather, but can also affect the health and daily life of people.

What to do and what not to do?

Possibility of hail : If you live in an area prone to hail, be careful. Park your vehicle in a safe place while driving and spend time indoors.

Rain with strong winds : To protect yourself when it rains with strong winds, take shelter in a safe place. Avoid outdoor activities and keep the windows closed.

Heatwaves and Heatstroke : If you are in a hot area, avoid going out and drink more water. Wear a hat or scarf to protect yourself from the sun and wear light-colored clothes.

There is a possibility of snowfall in the mountains and rain in many states in early February, due to which the temperature in the plains will drop and then there will be severe cold.

The reason for the rain is two western disturbances. The sky will be cloudy in Delhi NCR and strong winds will blow during the day. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has released an update regarding the weather.

Two western disturbances will continuously affect the western Himalayan region. One western disturbance will be active from January 29 and the other from February 1. Due to their effect, moderate to heavy rains and snowfall may occur in the western Himalayan region between January 29 and February 2. Light rain is expected in the surrounding plains between January 30 and February 1. Light to moderate and heavy rains are expected in parts of Tamil Nadu, Puducherry. However, northeast monsoon rains have stopped in Kerala, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Andhra Pradesh from today.

IMD has issued a cold wave warning. In the last 24 hours, cold wave conditions prevailed in Himachal Pradesh, Haryana, Punjab and Rajasthan. There is a cold wave alert in these states on January 28 as well. In the plains of the country, Fatehpur Sikar in East Rajasthan recorded the lowest minimum temperature of 0.5 degree Celsius. In many parts of North-West India and adjoining Uttarakhand, the minimum temperature is 5-10 degree Celsius, while in Central India, East and West India the temperature is between 10-18 degree Celsius.

Know what will be the temperature where?

There will be no significant change in minimum temperatures in northwest India in the next 24 hours, but thereafter there may be a rise of 3-5 degrees Celsius. There will be no change in mercury in central-eastern India as well and temperatures may rise by 2 to 3 degrees Celsius in western India in the next 4-5 days.

Dense fog alert issued

In the last 24 hours, dense to very dense fog was reported over Uttar Pradesh, Odisha, Assam and dense fog over Uttarakhand, West Bengal, Sikkim. Dense to very dense fog is likely over Uttar Pradesh, Bihar during night and morning hours till January 31, Uttarakhand, Assam, Meghalaya on January 28, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi till January 29, Odisha till January 30, Gangetic West Bengal between January 28-31.

Clouds will cover Delhi NCR

According to the Meteorological Department, the minimum temperature in Delhi NCR has dropped by 1 degree Celsius in the last 24 hours. The maximum temperature in Delhi is between 22 to 24 degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature is between 6 to 8 degrees Celsius. The minimum temperature was 2 degrees Celsius below normal and the maximum temperature was 2 degrees Celsius above normal. The weather remained clear at most places.

IMD Alert: The weather in the country is going to change once again. According to IMD (India Meteorological Department), a new western disturbance is becoming active from today, which will cause rain along with cold winds and dense fog in north-west India. This disturbance will remain effective till January 22, which will cause a sudden drop in temperature and increase the chill.

Snowfall and heavy rain in northwest India

Due to the effect of this western disturbance, snowfall and rain is expected in the western Himalayan region starting from January 18. According to the IMD, snowfall may occur in Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand from January 18 to 22, while rain is expected in Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh and Rajasthan on January 21 and 22.

Heavy rain alert in South India

Also, under the influence of a cyclonic circulation over the southeast Arabian Sea, heavy to very heavy rains may occur in Tamil Nadu, Puducherry from 18 to 20 January and in Kerala on 19-20 January. During this period, hailstorms along with strong thunderstorms are also likely, which may make the weather even colder in these areas.

Temperatures drop and cold wave warnings

While the minimum temperature will remain in minus in Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh, the temperature may fall by 2-3 degrees Celsius in other parts of North-West India. On the contrary, the minimum temperature in Gujarat is expected to increase by 2-3 degrees Celsius in the next 2 days. There will be no major change in mercury in Central-East India and Maharashtra for the next 4 days.

Chance of dense fog

The IMD has issued a warning of dense to very dense fog in many parts of northwest India in the next few days. Visibility may be extremely low due to dense fog in Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Rajasthan, Himachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura till January 20. At the same time, fog alert has also been issued in Madhya Pradesh, Uttarakhand, West Bengal, Sikkim and Odisha.

Cold wave continues in Delhi-NCR

There is no hope of relief from cold in Delhi and NCR region at present. The Meteorological Department has predicted rain during 21-22 January, due to which the temperature may fall further. At present, people are facing dense fog and severe cold in Delhi, due to which the risk of accidents on the roads can also increase.

Weather Latest Update: It rained all day yesterday in Punjab and Haryana. Due to the rain, the cold has also intensified. This has given relief to the people from the dry cold that has been prevailing for several days.

Due to the cold winds blowing along with the rain, the cold has also intensified in both the states. A cold wave and dense fog have been predicted in Punjab on December 24, 25 and 26. During this time, the rains will also continue. A further drop of 2 to 3 degrees Celsius will be recorded in the temperature.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an orange alert for heavy rains in several states amid the ongoing cold wave in North India. According to the IMD, the severe cold wave conditions will further worsen due to rains caused by a western disturbance. The situation is likely to worsen in states like Madhya Pradesh, Punjab, Jammu and Kashmir and Haryana in the next seven days. The Meteorological Department has warned of an intense western disturbance affecting northwest India from the night of December 26. A cyclonic circulation is likely to form over southwest Rajasthan on December 27, which, along with easterly winds, will bring high humidity from the Arabian Sea and Bay of Bengal till December 28.

Rain in Uttar Pradesh-Delhi

According to IMD, severe cold and heavy rain are likely in Madhya Pradesh, Punjab, Jammu and Kashmir and Haryana in the next seven days. According to the Meteorological Department, Una, Hamirpur, Bilaspur and Mandi districts of Himachal Pradesh are on orange alert. There is a possibility of light rain in Haryana, Uttar Pradesh and Delhi-NCR areas during the next few days. In Punjab, fog and light rain are likely in some areas of Chandigarh.

Snowfall in the mountains

The drop in temperature in Kashmir and other high-altitude areas has caused water pipes to clog and power generation to be disrupted as rivers filled with water turned to ice. A yellow alert has been issued in the Bhakra Dam area and the Balh Valley of Himachal Pradesh, warning of continuous fog, making daily life even more difficult.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert for 18 districts of Tamil Nadu on November 16 and 17, predicting heavy rains. The affected districts include Kanyakumari, Thoothukudi, Tirunelveli, Ramanathapuram, Tenkasi, Virudhunagar, Madurai, Theni, Dindigul, Sivaganga, Pudukottai, Thanjavur, Tiruvarur, Nagapattinam, Mayiladuthurai, Cuddalore, Villupuram and Chengalpattu. According to the Meteorological Department, this rain is due to cyclonic winds in and around South Tamil Nadu.

Heavy rain warning from November 22

The RMC has also warned that the northern coastal districts of the state, such as Chennai, Tiruvallur, Chengalpattu and Kanchipuram, may receive heavy rains from November 22. Above normal rainfall is expected in these areas from November 22 to 28.

Monsoon and fall in power consumption

From October 1 to November 15, Tamil Nadu has recorded 276 mm of rainfall during the northeast monsoon, with Coimbatore recording the highest rainfall with 418 mm. The heavy rains have led to a drop in power consumption, which was earlier 380 million units per day, to 302 million units now.

The risk of seasonal diseases increased

At the same time, cases of viral diseases are also increasing due to heavy rains. There has been an increase in cases of fever, influenza and malaria in Chennai and surrounding districts. The health department has advised people to take precautions, especially to protect children and the elderly from infection.

Overall, the weather is expected to worsen further in Tamil Nadu in the coming days, and the impact of the monsoon could lead to serious health problems.

Varanasi: Clouds have been moving in many districts of UP since Saturday morning. The situation is the same in more than a dozen districts of eastern and western Uttar Pradesh. The Meteorological Department has predicted that on Saturday, July 27, more than 20 districts of the state may receive rain.

According to the information given on the IMD website, there is a possibility of moderate rain in Jhansi, Lalitpur, Meerut, Agra, Hathrath, Jalaun, Hamirpur, Aligarh. At the same time, there may be rain in Varanasi, Lucknow, Prayagraj, Mirzapur, Sonbhadra, Chandauli, Ayodhya, Rae Bareli. However, at present, many districts of eastern Uttar Pradesh are not expecting much relief from these rain drops.

There is no hope of much relief from the heat at the moment.

Professor Manoj Kumar Srivastava, a meteorologist at Banaras Hindu University, said that in Varanasi and the surrounding districts where there is a possibility of rain, people do not see much hope of relief from the humid heat for the next 24 to 48 hours.

IMD Rain Alert: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) said that the southwest monsoon has covered the entire country six days ahead of schedule. The IMD said, “The southwest monsoon has advanced into the remaining parts of Rajasthan, Haryana and Punjab today.

It covered the entire country on July 2, 2024 against the normal date of July 8.” The Meteorological Department had forecast on Monday that the country is expected to receive above average rainfall in July due to the monsoon gaining momentum. The monsoon reached Kerala and the Northeast ahead of schedule on May 30, but its pace remained slow in Maharashtra. Due to this, severe heat waves hit northwest India and dry conditions prevailed for long periods in West Bengal, Odisha, Jharkhand, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh.

What did IMD say in the latest report

According to the latest report released by the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), a cyclonic circulation is formed over south-eastern Pakistan and the monsoon trough is north of its normal position at sea level. Due to this, moderate to heavy rainfall with thunderstorms is expected in north-west and central India from today to the next 4 days. At the same time, IMD has issued a warning regarding heavy to very heavy rains in some states.

IMD said in its report that heavy to very heavy rains are expected in Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit, Baltistan Muzaffarabad between July 4 and 7. At the same time, heavy rains are also expected in Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Eastern Rajasthan from July 3 to 7. Heavy to very heavy rains are expected in western Rajasthan on the evening of July 3. Apart from this, heavy rains are expected in Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh till July 4 i.e. Thursday.

There is a possibility of rain in these states as well

IMD has also said in the report that there will be heavy rains in the hilly state of Uttarakhand during July 3-7. Some rivers here are already in spate. According to the weather department forecast, there is a possibility of very heavy rainfall in western UP on July 6-7, and in eastern UP during July 5-7.

IMD further said that one cyclonic circulation is over northern Bangladesh and the other is located over the northeastern state of Assam. A trough is formed at lower tropospheric levels from MP to the cyclonic circulation over Assam. Due to this, there is a possibility of rain in some states for the next 5 days.

Apart from this, heavy rainfall is expected in most areas of Bihar, West Bengal, Sikkim, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura during the next 120 hours. Heavy rains may occur in Jharkhand during the next 36 hours and in Odisha on 6-7 July.

The report further stated that a cyclonic circulation persists over North Gujarat and adjoining areas in the mid-tropospheric levels. Due to this, light to moderate rainfall with thunderstorms and lightning is expected in the southern states of Kerala, Lakshadweep, coastal Karnataka, Konkan, Goa, Gujarat. Light to moderate rainfall is also expected in Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Yanam and Karnataka. Apart from this, light to moderate rainfall is likely to occur sporadically over Marathwada, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karaikal, Rayalaseema and Telangana during the next 120 hours.

The post IMD Rain Alert: There will be heavy rain in 18 states in the next 96 hours, alert issued in these states including Rajasthan, UP-Bihar first appeared on Rightsofemployees.com.
