North Central Railway has decided to start this system from the major stations of Prayagraj division. These include Prayagraj Junction, Prayagraj Chheoki, Subedarganj, Kanpur Central, Mirzapur, Tundla, Aligarh Junction, Govindpuri and Etawah stations. Electronic luggage machines will soon be installed at these places, where the passengers’ bags will be weighed and only then will they be allowed entry to the platform.

Not only the weight but the size of the bag will also be checked

Railways has clarified that not only the weight but also the size of the bag will be checked. If a passenger’s bag is so big that it occupies more space in the coach, then a penalty can be imposed on it as well. That means even if the weight is less, a large size bag can cause problems.

How much luggage can passengers carry in which coach

Indian Railways has set the limit of free luggage according to the class of passengers. According to this limit, First AC passengers can carry up to 70 kg of luggage. Second AC passengers can carry up to 50 kg and Third AC passengers can carry up to 40 kg. Apart from these, Sleeper class passengers can also carry up to 40 kg of luggage while General and Second Sitting passengers can carry up to 35 kg. According to the rules of the Railways, there will be a relaxation of carrying up to 10 kg more luggage than the set limit, but if the weight is more than that, the passengers will have to go to the station and book the luggage.

Penalty will have to be paid for carrying more than the prescribed limit

If a passenger is found carrying more luggage than the booking amount, he will be charged. This charge will be 1.5 times the normal rate. This means that carrying more weight than the limit without booking can be costly.

According to railway officials, this rule has been made keeping in mind both the safety and convenience of the passengers. Centre for Railway Information Systems (CRIS) has developed RailOne. The app also supports existing RailConnect and UTS credentials. The app saves storage on the phone as it eliminates the need to install other apps related to railway services. It allows passengers to book both reserved and unreserved tickets on mobile phones. Union Minister Prahlad Joshi posted, “PM Modi will flag off three Vande Bharat trains during his Karnataka visit this Sunday. These new Vande Bharat trains will run between Bengaluru-Belagavi, Ajni-Pune in Nagpur and Amritsar-Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra. As per my earlier request, Bengaluru-Belagavi Vande Bharat train has been approved. This train will leave Belagavi at 5:20 am and reach Bengaluru at 1:50 pm.”

Similarly, the return journey from Bengaluru will start at 2:20 pm and reach Belagavi at 10:40 pm. This Vande Bharat will improve connectivity between Bengaluru, Tumakuru, Davanagere, Haveri, Hubli, Dharwad and Belagavi. Apart from this, BJP MP Jagadish Shettar said that he had been pushing this demand since he assumed office.

“I spoke to the Railway Minister about this and the proposal was approved in principle. But there was a delay due to the availability of coaches. From today, Aadhaar based OTP (One-Time Password) verification has been made mandatory for Tatkal ticket booking. This rule will apply to both online and offline ticket bookers. That is, on booking Tatkal tickets through IRCTC website or mobile app, now the passenger will have to enter the OTP sent to the mobile number linked to Aadhaar. This rule is applicable to Tatkal booking of all AC and Non-AC categories.

According to the news, Tatkal tickets for AC classes (1A, 2A, 3A, CC, EC) can be booked from 10:00 am a day prior to the journey, while Tatkal tickets for non-AC classes (Sleeper, Second Class) can be booked from 11:00 am a day prior to the journey.

Aadhaar OTP is also required for booking tickets from counter and agent

After the new rule implemented from Tuesday, even if a passenger books a Tatkal ticket through a computerized PRS counter or an authorized agent, Aadhaar OTP verification will be necessary. The passenger will have to provide his Aadhaar number and registered mobile number. The ticket will be issued only after OTP verification. To book Tatkal tickets on IRCTC, your profile must be authenticated with Aadhaar. If this is not done, you will not be able to book tickets.

Booking time changed for authorized agents

When can the emergency alarm chain be used

Emergency alarm chain can be used only in emergency situations. He said, ‘Initially, Kashmir’s first Vande Bharat train will run between Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra and Srinagar. The service of this semi-high-speed train is set to be extended to Jammu Tawi later this year. The railway official was asked about the possible date of starting the Vande Bharat train service between Jammu Tawi and Srinagar. On this, he said, ‘The first phase of modernization work is going on regarding the Vande Bharat train between Jammu Tawi and Srinagar. It is expected to start after its completion.’

Distance between Jammu Tawi and Srinagar is 268 km

According to the report, Ashok Verma said that the first phase of Jammu Tawi station redevelopment will be completed by August or September. After this, this train can start running in October. It is known that Vande Bharat train will cover a distance of 268 km between Jammu Tawi and Srinagar, which will take four hours. It will also be the fastest train running on this route. Passengers with reservation tickets and passengers catching trains from platform number 16 will get entry only from gate numbers 7 and 10 from Ajmeri Gate side circulating area.

A separate gate has been reserved for unreserved passengers travelling on general tickets from New Delhi Railway Station. A green corridor has been created for them at the station. These passengers will be able to enter through Gate No. 12 via the green corridor from Ajmeri Gate.

If your train is arriving on any platform between platform 1 to 15, then you will get entry from gate number 8, 9 and 11. These passengers will not be able to enter from other gates. According to the notification of the Railways, the fares of mainline electric multiple unit (MEMU) trains and all passenger trains starting from zero number have been reduced. The fare has come into effect from 27th February. There was a demand for reducing the fares of passenger trains for a long time. Passenger associations were also raising their voice against this increased fare. They were having to pay unnecessarily increased rent. They had to pay the same fare for express trains as for passenger trains.

Minimum fare increased from Rs 10 to Rs 30

The fare for second class passenger and MEMU train was increased from minimum Rs 10 to Rs 30 after COVID-19. Instead of passenger trains, these trains were named Express Specials and MEMU/DEMU Express. Railways has informed all the booking reservation supervisors about this decision through notification.

Change in fare on app also

Fares have also been changed on the Unreserved Ticketing System App (UTS App). Four years ago, due to Covid 19 lockdown, Railways had to stop all its trains. After the lockdown, when the Railways gradually started train services again, the Railways increased the minimum fares for passenger trains.

You can watch movies with earphones

According to the rules of the Railways, you can watch movies or listen to songs by wearing earphones but you cannot do any such activities without earphones. This new rule has been brought by the Railways so that passengers can sleep easily and travel without any hassle.

Can’t even wake up TTE

Many times it happens that the Travel Ticket Examiner (TTE) wakes up the passenger late in the night and asks about the ticket or ID. According to the information, TTE cannot disturb you from 10 pm to 6 am. Can verify tickets only between 6 am to 10 pm.

According to the guidelines of the Railway Board, even TTE cannot check your ticket while sleeping. However, this rule does not apply to passengers traveling after 10 pm. If you sit in the train after 10 pm, then you must get the ticket and ID checked.

Indian Railways has released the list of canceled trains on 14 September 2022 on the website of National Train Inquiry System. According to the news, Indian Railways has decided not to run so many trains due to ongoing repairs and other reasons in different zones of the railway across the country. Due to the cancellation of so many trains, a large number of passengers across the country may have to face problems.

Why are trains canceled

Let us tell you that in view of the ongoing track repair and construction work in different zones across the country, many trains are canceled. Along with this, bad weather, storm, water, rain and floods also become the reason for cancellation of many trains.

First of all go to the official website enquiry.indianrail.gov.in/mntes/. Here you will see the option of Exceptional Trains on the right side, click on it. Here you will be able to check the list of cancel trains, reschedule and divert trains.

The number of people traveling by AC local increased, this AC local train will not run on Sundays and holidays. Rest of the non-AC trains will continue to run as before. In early August, the Western Railway zone had decided to increase the number of AC locals in the Mumbai suburb in view of the increasing demand from the passengers. A railway official said that after the reduction in the fare of AC local, the number of passengers traveling by AC local has increased.

Will increase in the coming days and these trains will run between Mumbai Division’s Central Railway Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus, Thane Badlapur and Kalyan. On the railway side, this decision was taken in view of the increasing number of passengers in AC local. In the coming days, the number of AC locals will be increased further by the Railways.

This will be the route of 10 new AC local trains, out of 10 AC local trains, four services are Thane-CSMT-Thane (2 up, 2 down), four Badlapur-CSMT-Badlapur (2 up, 2 down) and two Kalyan-CSMT-Kalyan (1 up, 1 down). It is worth noting that at present, a total of 56 AC trains are operated by the Central Railway. Central Railway operates 1810 local trains on the Mumbai suburban network. More than 40 lakh passengers travel in these.
