Toll Annual Pass: Nitin Gadkari Plan Annual Pass Provides More Benefits to Drivers - Key Details inside

The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways has already announced an annual pass of Rs 3000 to provide relief to those traveling on expressways and highways. Now the process of giving them another relief has begun. This can provide benefits in parking. The ministry has started brainstorming in this direction.

Recently, the ministry has announced a pass of Rs 3000 for one year. In this, 200 trips will be free. On an average, the toll will be Rs 15 per toll. However, there will be many drivers who travel less on highways or expressways. What will happen if such drivers are thinking of getting an annual pass, but are unable to spend the entire amount in the stipulated time. The ministry is considering giving relief to such drivers.

Payment of parking

There is a discussion going on in this direction that if the entire amount is not spent, can this balance be used for parking or anywhere else. Although no decision has been taken in this regard yet, but it is definitely being considered. If this happens, then this pass will also benefit those drivers who will travel less on the highway after taking the annual pass.

Pass will start from 15th August

FASTag based annual pass of Rs 3,000 will be introduced from August 15, 2025. This pass will be valid for one year or up to 200 journeys, whichever is earlier. A separate link will soon be available on the Highway Travel App and NHAI/MoRTH website to start or renew the pass, which will make the process easier.

Relief will be available on 1063 toll

According to the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, the total network of NHAI is 1.5 lakh km across the country. About 90 thousand km of this is with the National Highway Authority of India. Of these, 45000 km is toll levied. There are 1063 toll plazas on these NHs. There are lakhs of vehicles which come and go on these NHs daily.
