Every day, lakhs of people travel by train in India. Long distance trains take several hours to two-three days. In such a situation, every passenger is worried about food. Many people buy food from vendors at the station or order from the train pantry. But many people still do not know how much price the railways has fixed for food and what all is available in it.
The Railway Ministry has recently given complete information about this to the passengers on its official social media account. The ministry has clearly stated the rates and menu of the veg thali.
How much will I get food in train?
Railways has informed that the price of veg meal (standard casserole) available at the station is Rs 70. However, if you order food while sitting in the train, then its price will be Rs 80.
What will be on the menu?
In the standard railway veg thali, you will get 2 parathas or 4 rotis (100 grams), plain rice (150 grams), dal or sambhar (150 grams), vegetable (100 grams), curd (80 grams) and pickle (12 gram packet).
Railways has said that this food is nutritious as well as budget friendly. You can take it at the station or even order it in the train.
If the pantry attendant asks you for more money then complain
If a vendor or pantry person asks you for more money or gives you less or inferior food than the menu given in the plate, then you can show this official message of the railway. If even after this they do not listen to you, then you can lodge a complaint through the railway helpline or online platform.
