Trump Tariffs Impact: The imposition of 50% US tariff on India has dealt a huge blow to the Indian glass industry. Crores of rupees of export units exporting glass items are stuck. Now exporters are looking for new markets. Glass products are produced in large quantities in Firozabad and exported abroad. There are about 200 exporters here who prepare and decorate various types of products as per the demand all over the world and supply them. Especially on New Year and Christmas, their demand increases a lot, for which goods are prepared months in advance.
Orders worth crores cancelled after tariff
Many products are also supplied to hotels and restaurants. If exporters are to be believed, orders worth crores of rupees were pending at present, which were cancelled due to the increase in tariff. Apart from this, about Rs 500 crore of exporters here is still pending in the US market. At present, entrepreneurs are worried about withdrawing it.
Traders are busy looking for new markets
Traders believe that due to increase in tariffs, the prices of products have increased, due to which there is no possibility of supply of goods to America. Therefore, all the export units have started looking for the possibility of selling goods in other countries of the world. Exporter Devendra Tiwari says that we will also walk shoulder to shoulder with the government for the policy and honor of our country. Instead of bowing down to America, we are making better efforts to increase our business.
