The Meteorological Department has issued a warning saying that heavy rains with thunder and lightning are likely to occur in Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi and Uttar Pradesh till May 12. Along with the rains, strong winds with a speed of 40 to 60 kmph are likely to occur. There is also a possibility of rain at some places in Rajasthan.

The Meteorological Department said that hailstorm is likely in Himachal Pradesh-Uttarakhand on May 7. Strong winds with a speed of 60-70 kmph are likely in East Rajasthan on May 7. Heavy rain is likely in Uttarakhand and East Rajasthan on May 7.
Alert in these states
The Meteorological Department said that light to moderate rains are likely to occur in Konkan and Goa on May 7, Marathwada on May 8 and Gujarat on May 9 with strong winds reaching a speed of 40-50 kmph (up to 60 kmph). Hailstorm is likely in Gujarat and Madhya Maharashtra and Marathwada on May 7. Gusty winds reaching a speed of 60-70 kmph (up to 80 kmph) are likely in Gujarat. Heavy rain is likely in Gujarat on May 8.
Rain in Bihar too
The Meteorological Department said that light to moderate rain and strong winds reaching a speed of 40-50 kmph (60 kmph) are likely over West Madhya Pradesh (May 8-9), East Madhya Pradesh (May 8-10), Gangetic West Bengal, Vidarbha and Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, the Great Gangetic Plain of West Bengal, Sikkim and Odisha and Bihar (May 7). Winds reaching a speed of 60-70 kmph (up to 80 kmph) are likely over West Madhya Pradesh on May 7 and winds reaching a speed of 50-60 kmph are likely over East Madhya Pradesh and Bihar on May 7.
