Before the decision on DA hike in March, a big update has come for the central employees. Millions of employees may get upset after hearing this news. Yes, there has been a decline in the figures of AICPI index released by the Labor Ministry in December after November. After the decline in this figure, the increase in DA may be less than expected.

AICPI index increased continuously till November

Let us tell you that from July to November, the figure of AICPI index was continuously increasing. But a decline has been registered in December. The increase in dearness allowance from January 1 can now be reduced on its basis. However, the figures for October and November remained the same. The December figure has fallen to 132.3 points as compared to November. In October and November, this figure was at 132.5 points. It was 131.3 in September, 130.2 in August and 129.9 in July.

DA may increase by 3 percent

On January 31, the AICPI index figures for December were released by the Labor Ministry. Now, based on the data released by the Labor Ministry, the increase in DA of employees from January 1 can be 3 percent instead of 4 percent. That is, due to the decrease in the figure, there can be a loss of one percent directly to the employees. This increase will be announced by the government in March.

By how much will the DA

increase? After increasing the DA by 4 percent in July, the dearness allowance of the central employees had increased to 38 percent. Now if there is an increase of 3 percent in it, then it will increase to 41 percent. Let us tell you that under the Seventh Pay Commission (7th Pay Commission), the DA (DA Hike) of central employees is increased twice a year. DA of January 2022 and July 2022 has been announced. Now the DA of January 2023 will be announced.

Who releases the data?

Let us tell you that it is decided on the basis of AICPI index that how much will be the increase in dearness allowance? On the last working day of every month, the figures of All India Consumer Price Index (AICPI) are released by the Labor Ministry. This index has been prepared for 88 centers and for the entire country.
