After this, it will be decided whether the dearness allowance of central and government employees will be increased by what percent. However, till now the figures of AICPI are telling that there may be an increase of 4 percent in the dearness allowance.

Significantly, the dearness allowance of central employees is revised twice a year. DA has been increased in January and now dearness allowance is increased for July. The effective DA from January is 42 per cent and if the government increases DA after July, then the dearness allowance may increase to 46 per cent, as it is expected to increase by 4 per cent DA.

What do the figures of AICPI index say?

Figures till May 2023 have been released by the Labor Ministry so far, in which the rate of dearness allowance has reached 45.57 points. This means that 4 percent DA increase on this figure is almost certain. However, the figure for June is going to be released on July 31, after which it will become more clear that by what percentage will be the increase in DA. It is expected that there will be a 4 percent increase in DA in July, after which the DA of the employees will increase to 46 percent.

Rates will be applicable from July 1

There will be a second increase in DA this year from the central government. The DA hike from the government side can be calculated from July 1. After this increase, 1 crore employee-pensioners will get benefit. There is a possibility that before the upcoming elections, anytime between Rakshabandhan to Diwali, the central government may announce an increase in dearness allowance. Although the official announcement has not been made yet.

How much salary will increase

If the basic salary of an employee is Rs 18000, then 42% DA will be imposed on it, which means that dearness allowance will be Rs 7560. On the other hand, if 46 percent dearness allowance is added, then it will become Rs.8280 per month. Accordingly, Rs 720 will increase every month. That is, there will be an increase of more than 8 thousand rupees annually.
