4 percent increase in dearness allowance fixed

Actually, the DA of central employees is increased twice a year in January and July, the amount of increase in DA depends on the data of AICPI Index, which is released every month. But for DA the data is reviewed every 6 months and based on that the first hike is in January and the second in July.

According to the data of AICPI index for May 2023, dearness allowance has reached 45.58 percent and the index is at 134.7 points. In such a situation, a 4 percent increase in DA is being considered as fixed. At present the DA of central employees is 42%, if there is a 4% increase then DA can reach 46%. Due to this, there will be a big jump in the salary of the employees and the pension of the pensioners.

1 crore employees will be benefited

At present, the DA of central employees is 42%, which is applicable from January to June 2023. The next DA is to be applicable for July to December 2023. This will be the second hike of the year. It is expected that there will be a 4 per cent hike in DA in July, after which the DA of the employees will increase to 46 per cent. It will be implemented from July 1, 2023, in which case arrears will also be available. This will benefit 1 crore employee-pensioners. It is expected that the new DA rates may be announced anytime between Raksha Bandhan to Diwali.

How much will the salary increase?

For example, if the basic salary of a government employee is Rs 18000, then on this he gets 42% DA ie Rs 7560 and when it is 46%, then he will get Rs 8280 per month. Accordingly, there will be an increase of Rs 7560 in the salary. If someone gets a basic pension of Rs 30,000 a month, then he gets Rs 44,400 as dearness relief.
