The NPS Employees Federation says that since August 13, the employees have been sitting on a fast for the restoration of old pension, but the government has not yet taken any decision in the interest of the employees.

In fact, after Shimla, the employees have started a gradual fast in Hamirpur, Kangra and Mandi from Thursday for restoration of old pension. State President of New Pension Scheme Employees Federation, Pradeep Thakur said that the employees have made a mood to fight a war-torn battle for restoration of old pension from the government. He said that on August 13, a meeting of the NPS Employees Federation was held with the government. Even after the meeting, the state government disappointed the employees.

He said that the NPS Employees Federation has just decided to hold a gradual fast at the Lok Sabha level. After this, if the government does not pay any heed to their demands, then in the coming time such gradual fasts will be organized at the district and block level also. Employees across the state are demanding restoration of old pension by holding gate meetings. He said that the Himachal government has formed a committee in a hurry to end the New Pension Scheme.

The NPS Employees Federation had placed all its facts before the committee, but the committee is not working properly. He said that the gradual hunger strike would continue till the government agreed to their demands.
