After four percent increase in Dearness Allowance (DA) before Navratri, now DA is expected to increase from January 2023 next year. If everything remains the same, then the dearness allowance may increase by three to four percent in the next year also.

Meanwhile, news is coming that soon the central government may increase the fitment factor of more than 52 lakh central employees. It is worth noting that the basic salary increases on the basis of fitment factor. In fact, the central employees have been demanding an increase in the fitment factor from the central government for a long time.

Central employees are currently being given a fitment factor of 2.57 per cent. There is a demand to increase it to 3.68 times. On increasing the fitment factor from 2.57 to 3.68, the minimum basic salary will increase from Rs 18,000 to Rs 26,000. If the central government accepts this demand, then there will be a tremendous increase in the minimum salary of central employees.

It is worth noting that the last time the fitment factor was increased in the year 2016. The 7th Pay Commission was also implemented in the same year. At that time the minimum salary of the employees had gone straight from Rs 6000 to Rs 18,000. While the highest level was raised from Rs 90,000 to Rs 2.5 lakh. Now the government can increase the salary of central employees again this year.

The fitment factor decides the basic salary for all central government employees. This time, if there is a possible increase in the fitment factor, then the minimum basic pay will increase from Rs 18000 to Rs 26000.
