7th Pay Commission Latest News Today: Now the state of Assam has given Diwali gift to some of its employees before Diwali. Bringing the festive cheer to the home guards of the state, the Assam government has increased their daily duty allowance.

Allowance of Home Guards has been increased from Rs 300 to Rs 767. Issuing a notification in this regard, the state government said that this increase will be applicable with immediate effect. The state government said that after the hike, the monthly salary of the home guard will be Rs 23,010.

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said in a tweet that Home Guards, a major branch of the assampolice, play an important role in maintaining law and order. Meeting the long standing demand of about 24,000 Home Guards, we are giving approval to increase their daily allowance from the existing Rs 300 to Rs 767. Now his monthly salary has gone up to Rs 23,010.

Many states increased DA

The Assam government has taken this step after several states increased dearness allowance and dearness relief to government employees before Diwali. The states which have increased DA and DR include Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Chhattisgarh, UP, Haryana and Odisha.

Central government increased DA of employees

Last month, the central government increased the Dearness Allowance (DA) and dearness relief by 4 percent with effect from July 1, 2022. This will benefit 41.85 lakh central government employees and 69.76 lakh pensioners. DA and dearness relief increased by 4 per cent to 38 per cent. Giving information, Information and Broadcasting Minister Anurag Thakur said that due to both DA and DR, the expenditure on the exchequer will increase by Rs 12,852.5 crore per annum.
