Will Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman make these three announcements for government employees in the budget today? In the budget, the Finance Minister will announce to give DA arrears of 18 months. Along with this, to increase the salary, the Finance Minister will announce to increase the fitment factor in the budget. With the completion of these three demands, there will be a significant increase in the salary of government employees.

Received 18 months DA arrears

At the time of Kovid, the government did not give DA arrears of 18 months. The government did not increase DA for 18 months from January 2020 to June 2021. The government had frozen it. After this, the government had directly increased the DA by 11 percent on July 1, 2021, but did not say anything about not increasing or increasing DA for 18 months. The employees are expecting that the government will give DA of 18 months in the budget.

Government will increase the fitment factor

Central government employees have been demanding for a long time an increase in the fitment factor linked to salary hike. Government employees are demanding the government to increase the fitment factor from 2.57 percent to 3.68 percent. If the government accepts this demand, the minimum basic salary of the employees will increase from Rs 18,000 to Rs 26,000. That is, the minimum salary will directly increase by Rs 8,000.

Government may increase dearness allowance

The government increases Dearness Allowance (DA) twice a year on January 1 and July 1. This time the employees are expecting that the government will increase the DA along with the budget. At the end of September last year, the government had increased the dearness allowance by 4 per cent to 38 per cent. This time it is expected that the government can increase the DA by 3 to 4 percent. If this happens, DA will increase to between 41 to 42 percent and there will be a big increase in salary.
