The answer is yes. Non-resident Indians can also get Aadhaar card made like common Indian citizens. Giving information on this matter, the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has told that Indians living abroad can also get Aadhaar card made. There are some terms and conditions for this.

Know what are the rules

According to UIDAI, Long Term Visa (LTV) document holders can also get Aadhaar, provided they have stayed in India for 182 days or more from the date of application. Non Resident Indian i.e. Overseas Indians who want to get Aadhaar card made in India must have a valid passport of India. This passport can be used as an address proof. Along with this, the thing to keep in mind is that to get an Aadhaar card, you must have an Indian number. Along with this, you will also need an email ID.

Know what is the process

1. NRIs can easily get their Aadhaar card made from Aadhaar center.
2. For this they have to fill the Aadhaar form to an NRI.
3. This form is slightly different from the normal Aadhaar form.
4. Along with this, you will also have to carry your valid Indian passport.
5. Now after filling all the information sought in this form, you will have to fill your e-mail ID.
6. You can submit only passport copy as ID proof.
7. After this, you will have to submit biometric details at the Aadhaar center.
8. After this, you will get an Enrollment ID of 14 numbers in the Aadhaar center.
10. Through this you can easily check the status of your Aadhaar.
