Aadhaar card deadline to update documents for free extended till September 14, check details

The central government has announced to extend the deadline for updating Aadhaar card for free. Initially its deadline was set as June 14, 2023 but now the deadline has been extended, users will be allowed 3 more months to update their Aadhaar card information. The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI), the organization issuing the Aadhaar number, has extended the last date for updating the Aadhaar card for free till September 14, 2023.

UIDAI keeps encouraging to update Aadhaar details from time to time. If any information is wrongly recorded in your Aadhaar card and you want to get it corrected, then now is the right time to get this work done for free. UIDAI is also appealing to Aadhaar card holders who are more than 10 years old to update their details. Now no money will have to be paid for updating Aadhaar online. At the same time, if you go to the Aadhaar center and do this work, you will still have to pay Rs 50.

Update Aadhaar online like this

  • Go to the Self Service Update Portal of UIDAI. https://ssup.uidai.gov.in/ssup/
  • Click on ‘Login’ and enter your unique 12 digit Aadhaar number and the captcha code provided. Then click on ‘Send OTP’ and enter the OTP sent to your Aadhaar linked mobile number.
  • Now select ‘Update Aadhaar Online’ under the Services tab.
  • Now click on ‘Proceed to Update Aadhaar’ and select the details you want to change.
  • Your existing name in Aadhaar card will appear on your screen. You can make whatever changes you want by uploading the document.
  • Confirm the changes made. Your information will be updated.
