Aadhaar is accepted in more than 1100 public welfare schemes of the central and state government. Apart from this, it is also the most important document of civil identity. Aadhaar is used as a necessary document in cases like bank account, investment scheme or property purchase.

In such a situation, it is very important to have the details of Aadhaar correct. But, if you do not have the relevant documents to update the details of Aadhaar, then there is no need to worry, because the Aadhaar Authority has given a great relief to the users and given the option of exemption.

The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has launched the Head of Family Service for Aadhaar users. Through this, Aadhaar users can make online correction or update in their Aadhaar registered address through their Aadhaar document with the consent of the head of the family. Aadhaar’s Head of Family Service is benefiting such people, who do not have all their documents.

Aadhaar card being the most important document, all the information of the user is recorded in it. But, many times people do not have their documents, due to which they face difficulty in entering those information like address etc. in Aadhaar. At the same time, this facility is proving to be very effective for people shifting from one city to another due to work or any other reason.

Applicants can make changes or correction in their address etc. through Head of Family Service by submitting documents related to proof of relationship like ration card, mark sheet, marriage certificate, passport etc. But it is necessary that the name of the applicant and the head of the family and the relationship between them should be mentioned in it. Any resident above the age of 18 years can be a Head of Family and can share his address with his relatives through this process.

Free document update opportunity till June 2023

According to the Aadhaar authority, the free service of updating documents online will be available from March 15 to June 14, 2023.
