Army has increased the eligibility criteria to participate in the Agneepath recruitment process. Pre-skilled youth will also be able to take part in Agneepath recruitment. ITI- Polytechnic pass out will be able to apply in technical branch. This will give special encouragement to the pre-skilled youth. Not only this, it will reduce the training time as well. After this big change, now more young candidates will get a chance to join the scheme.

Let us tell you that from last February 16, under the Agneepath scheme, the registration for the recruitment of Agniveers in the Indian Army has started. Unmarried male candidates for Agneepath recruitment year 2023-24 can apply through online mode by visiting the official website joinindianarmy.nic.in. The last date for online application is 15 March 2023 while the selection test will be held on 17 April 2023.

As per the notification, the posts of Agniveer General Duty, Technical Clerk, Store Keeper, Tradesman will be filled. After the recent changes in the Agniveer selection process, now the candidates will have to clear the written test first. Only the candidates who qualify in this will be invited for the physical test. The written examination will be held on 17 April.

Enhanced criteria for application

According to the notification released on February 16, class 10th pass candidates can apply for Agniveer (General Duty) (All Arms). Whereas, for Agniveer (Technical) (All Arms), 12th pass candidates can apply. 12th pass with minimum 60 percent marks can apply for Agniveer Clerk (Store Keeper) posts. 8th-10th pass candidates can apply for Agniveer Tradesman posts. Now ITI-Polytechnic pass out youth will also be able to apply for the new change. These trained youth will have to apply in the technical branch of the army. Their training will also be of less time.
