Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia on Thursday launched ‘Digi Yatra’, a facility to enter air passengers on the basis of facial recognition at Delhi airport. Through Digi Yatra, passengers will not need boarding pass at airports.
Facility started at three airports
Under the new rule, passengers coming to the airport will be able to get paperless entry and the details of the passengers will be verified automatically at various check points through facial recognition. The same system will work in security check areas as well. This facility has been started on Thursday itself at Delhi as well as at Varanasi and Bengaluru airports.
For this facility, passengers will have to register on ‘Digiyatra’ app and give their information. Entry to the airport will be through e-gate, verification will be done through Aadhaar in ‘Digiyatra’ app and the passenger will also have to take his/her photograph. At the airport’s e-gate, the passenger will first have to scan the bar-coded boarding pass. After this, the ‘facial recognition’ system installed there will verify the identity of the passenger and the travel document.
After this process, the passenger will be able to enter the airport through the e-gate. OTP Based Authentication After entering the requested information in the DigiYatra app, the process of authentication from Aadhaar will happen only once. This is OTP based authentication. After this, whenever you travel, you will have to upload your ticket on the App after web check-in.
After reaching the airport, you will have to put your ticket on the scanner and get your face scanned. After this your entry will be done. The purpose of DigiYatra The purpose of starting the service of DigiYatra app is to speed up the entry process of the airport. After the start of this process, there will be relief from long queues. Apart from this, passengers will also get freedom from carrying documents and hard copies. Now you will be able to enter digitally easily.
