User Development Fee (UDF)

One of the most common charges included in the flight fare is the user development fee, which is charged to meet the cost of modernization of airports. The difference in the expenses going under this item depends on the airport from which the flight is taking off.

Airline fuel charge

Sometimes airlines pass on the burden of higher fuel prices to airline passengers and charge it as airline fuel charge or fuel surcharge which is charged over and above the base fare.

Passenger service fee

The Airport Authority of India (AAI) charges passenger service fees from the flight operators, which is taken in lieu of the security and other facilities of the passengers at the airports. However, only a few airports charge this fee from the passengers.

CUTE FEES

Airport Authority of India also levies CUTE fee on passengers in some cases which is called Common User Terminal Equipment Fee. It is charged for the use of metal detecting machines, escalators and other airport equipment used at the airport. It is also sometimes called Passenger Handling Fee which can vary from airport to airport.

Passenger security fee

Passenger security fees or aviation security fees can also be charged from those who travel by air, which is in lieu of the deployment of Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) personal.
