Please tell that this change has been done only in Gujarat. This is the first hike in milk prices in the state after the Gujarat assembly elections are due in December 2022. The reason behind this is said to be the increase in the cost of milk production due to the rising cost of fodder and transportation.

This is the new rate list

With this hike, the price of Amul buffalo milk is now Rs 68 per litre, while Amul Gold will be available at Rs 64 per litre. The price of Amul Shakti is Rs 58 per litre. The current price of Amul cow milk is Rs 54 per litre, Amul fresh Rs 52 per liter and Amul T-Special Rs 60 per litre.

The prices of various brands of Amul milk were hiked twice across India by the GCMMF in the last six months, but Gujarat was exempted. Ahead of the assembly elections in the state, Amul hiked prices by Rs 2 per liter in October 2022 and then by a further Rs 3 in February 2023 for all markets except Gujarat.
