Why will banks remain closed on Wednesday, June 11, 2025?

Today, Wednesday, June 11, banks will remain closed in Himachal Pradesh and Gangtok on account of Sant Kabir Jayanti and Saga Dawa. Banks will remain open in all other states. Sant Kabir Jayanti is celebrated every year on Jyeshtha Purnima. This day is celebrated with reverence and devotion as the birth anniversary of Sant Kabir Das Ji. Sant Kabir was a great social reformer, poet and prominent saint of the Bhakti movement. Saga Dawa is dedicated to the birth, enlightenment and Mahaparinirvana of Lord Buddha. This day is considered extremely sacred for Buddhist followers.
