BCCI Opens Its Coffers
The ICC has already awarded the team ₹39.55 crore in prize money for winning the World Cup trophy. Following this, the Board of Control for Cricket in India has announced a huge prize money for the entire team. BCCI Secretary Devajit Saikia has announced a whopping prize money of ₹51 crore for the Indian women’s cricket team.
Captain Harmanpreet gave credit to everyone for the win.
The Indian women’s cricket team, led by Harmanpreet, defeated South Africa by 52 runs to win their first ICC trophy. Harmanpreet said after the match that the entire credit goes to the team and every member of the team. “We had lost three consecutive matches, but the way we played after that. We knew we could turn things around. We believed in ourselves and remained positive. This team deserved the win. Credit goes to the BCCI and the fans for their support, who always stood by us through the ups and downs.”
