Mahila Samman Savings Certificate: Mahila Samman Savings Certificate, 2023, a small savings scheme for women and girls, was introduced by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman in the Budget 2023-24 to empower women. Earlier this small saving scheme was available only in post offices, but now it can be opened in banks also.

The Department of Economic Affairs, Ministry of Finance, through an e-gazette published on 27 June 2023, had authorized all public sector banks and eligible private sector banks to operate the Mahila Samman Savings Certificate, 2023.

Mahila Samman Savings Certificate (Mahila Samman Savings Certificates Interest rate) scheme is a new initiative of the government for women. MSSC offers an interest rate of 7.5% per annum. The scheme is valid for a period of two years till March 31, 2025.
