Big update on weather, IMD warns of heavy rain in 5 districts in this state

The Meteorological Department has issued a warning of heavy rain in five districts of Kumaon on Thursday. While yellow alert has been issued for Dehradun, Pauri, Almora and Chamoli districts. According to the department, the period of heavy rains will continue in the state till August 6. Yellow alert has also been issued by the department for the next four days.

Here, on Thursday, an orange alert has been issued for heavy to very heavy rain in some parts of Nainital, Champawat, Udhamsinghnagar, Bageshwar, Pithoragarh. The local administration has been warned about this. At the same time, there may be one or two rounds of heavy rain in some parts of Dehradun. Here, maximum rainfall of 137 mm was recorded in Banbasa, 95 in Kapkot and 88 mm in Lohaghat in the last 24 hours.

Doon suffering due to rain, humidity and rising mercury

Due to sudden fluctuations in rain, humidity and temperature, the residents of Doon were troubled on Wednesday. In the last 24 hours, the maximum temperature in Dehradun recorded a drop of 7.8 degrees. Doon’s maximum temperature was 34.3 degrees on Tuesday, which was 26.5 degrees on Wednesday. The temperature of Doon is estimated to be 30 degrees on Thursday.

On Wednesday, the sky of Dehradun remained cloudy throughout the day. After heavy rain in some parts in the morning, drizzle continued during the day. Due to this the temperature kept fluctuating continuously. The day’s maximum temperature was 26.5 degrees, which was 3 degrees above normal. Due to this, humidity was also felt in Doon.

Here, according to the report released by the Meteorological Department, 1100 mm has been received so far in this monsoon season in Dehradun. Rainfall has been recorded, which is 45 per cent more than normal. Dehradun remains at number two after Bageshwar in terms of maximum rainfall in the state during the monsoon season.
