Microsoft co-founder and billionaire Bill Gates arrived at the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) headquarters in Mumbai on 28 February. During this, he met with RBI Governor Shaktikanta Das.

RBI shared pictures of the meeting on Twitter and wrote, “Bill Gates visited RBI’s Mumbai office today and discussed various matters with Governor Shaktikanta Das.” Significantly, Bill Gates is on a visit to India to explore business opportunities in health and education and other sectors in India.

During the meeting, Shaktikanta Das also presented a book to Bill Gates. Bill Gates had recently expressed his desire to do business in India. Gates said in a tweet on February 27, “India, like any other country, has limited resources, but this country has shown how progress can be made even with obstacles.”

Possibilities in the field of health

He also shared a video with this tweet in which he is saying, “About 20 percent of the population of the earth lives in India. India’s progress in the field of health is commendable. The infant mortality rate of the country has come down. They have brought new vaccines and the coverage of health services has increased. However, much remains to be done. India’s model will help the whole world. I like the energy here and it’s nice to come here and see progress.”

What issues were discussed

According to media report, during the meeting with the RBI governor, Bill Gates discussed about financial inclusion, payment system, micro finance and digital lending. Gates will meet India’s Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav tomorrow i.e. on March 1. He will discuss digital infrastructure in India with him under G20. Let us tell you that Bill Gates has a lot of attachment with India and he has praised India on many occasions.
