Cabinet Decision: Old trucks and buses will be phased out from Delhi-NCR, ATF fund of Rs 10,000 crore approved

Cabinet Decision: The Union Cabinet, chaired by the Prime Minister, approved a major package of ₹ 39,290 crore. This includes the Aviation Turbine Fuel (ATF) Price Stabilization Fund, a plan to replace old trucks and buses in Delhi-NCR, new coastal highways, and several national highway projects.

Cabinet Decision: The central government has taken a major step to boost the country’s transportation and infrastructure. The Union Cabinet approved a package of ₹ 39,290 crore. This includes an ATF Price Stabilization Fund to provide relief to the aviation sector, a plan to replace old polluting trucks and buses in Delhi-NCR, new coastal highways, and several important road projects.

The government claims that these schemes will boost economic activities and provide better transportation facilities to millions of people.

Know what is the decision on ATF

The Cabinet has approved providing one-time budgetary support to oil marketing companies. The decision states that this assistance will not exceed ₹10,000 crore and is intended to help stabilize ATF prices for scheduled Indian airlines for their domestic and international operations.

The government believes this fund will help make the aviation sector more stable and competitive, while also reducing cost pressures on passengers.

Plan to replace old trucks and buses in Delhi-NCR

The cabinet also approved a special ₹ 5,041 crore plan to reduce air pollution in Delhi-NCR . Under this plan, older and more polluting trucks and buses will be phased out and replaced with BS-VI and electric vehicles.

According to Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnav, vehicle owners will also be given financial incentives to encourage them to replace their old vehicles. The main objective of this scheme is to reduce pollution levels in the capital region.

Four major highway projects were also approved.

The cabinet approved four major road projects across the country, covering Bihar, Telangana, Odisha, Tamil Nadu and Madhya Pradesh.

Major projects include:

Khagaria-Purnia National Highway section
Road widening projects in Telangana
Proposed coastal highway from Rameswaram to Paradip
National Highway Upgradation Work in Madhya Pradesh
These projects are expected to accelerate freight transport and boost regional development.

Coastal highway will increase connectivity

The government has also approved the development of a new coastal highway from Rameswaram to Paradip. This project will provide improved road connectivity to several states along the east coast. This will significantly benefit tourism, port-based industries, and business activities, and could also boost investment in coastal areas.

Congress-ruled Telangana is also elated

The central government has approved projects to widen and upgrade national highways in Telangana . The total length of this project is 190.76 kilometers and will cost ₹7597.16 crore. This project will primarily involve the expansion of two highway sections to four lanes.

The Armoor-Jagtial-Mancherial section of National Highway NH-63 will be converted to four lanes on a hybrid annuity model. Similarly, the Jagtial-Karimnagar section of NH-563 will be converted to four lanes on a BOT toll mode.
