The government has taken a big and important decision for government employees. Now all the information related to the service of every employee will be recorded online. This will be called e-Service Book and this information will be saved on the e-HRMS 2.0 portal. With the e-service book, it will be easy to keep a record of the service of all the employees, transfers and promotions will happen quickly and no paper will be lost. This means that now the hassle of physical files will end. Now all the information will be available online.
What is a service book?
When an employee was recruited in a government job, when he got promoted, how many leaves he took, where he was transferred, everything is written in his service book. Earlier all these things were recorded in a physical file, but now everything will be recorded in digital form.
Why is digital service book necessary?
Any employee’s information can now be viewed from anywhere. Work will be faster and unnecessary paperwork will be eliminated. Information will be more secure in one place. Works like transfer and promotion will also be completed quickly.
What instructions has the government given?
The Department of Personnel (DoPT) has asked all ministries and offices to immediately upload the service book of their employees on the online portal. Check all the information thoroughly and update it. Once the online record is complete, discontinue the paper service book. Now only the digital service book will be considered official.
