An official said that Pakistani YouTube channels have been blocked for spreading inflammatory, communally sensitive content and misinformation against India.
The Home Ministry had recommended
This latest action against Pakistan has been taken on the recommendations of the Home Ministry. It said that after the Pahalgam terror attack, Pakistani YouTube channels were broadcasting inflammatory and communally sensitive content, false and misleading statements and misinformation against India, its army and security agencies.
This is part of a series of non-military actions that the government has taken against Pakistan after the Pahalgam attack on April 22. In which 26 people were killed and many others were injured. Indians will no longer be able to watch these banned YouTube channels.
On April 22, a terror attack took place in Baisaran Meadow in Pahalgam. During this, terrorists opened fire on tourists, killing 25 Indian citizens and one Nepali citizen and injuring many others. After this, the Indian government announced several diplomatic measures.
This includes suspending the Indus Water Treaty, closing the Attari check post, suspending the SAARC visa exemption scheme for Pakistani citizens and reducing diplomatic staff in both countries. These steps highlight a strong diplomatic stance against Pakistan.
