If you are a central government employee or your friend or relative is a central employee, then you must read this news. On behalf of the Central Government, all the departments have been asked to ensure that the employees working under them compulsorily register their attendance through Aadhaar Enabled Biometric System.

According to the report of the news agency, the government has taken this step after laxity on the part of government departments and employees. It came to the notice of the government that some employees, despite being registered, are not registering their attendance through the biometric system.

Employees not marking attendance

During the review of the implementation of Aadhaar Enabled Biometric System for Attendance (ABEAS), it was observed that a large number of Government servants posted in the Ministries/Departments/Organizations of the Government of India (GOI) are not marking their attendance. In the order issued by the Ministry of Personnel, it was said that biometric system will be used. Taking serious note of such employees who are not registering their attendance despite being registered, it has been decided that the Ministries/Departments/Organizations should ensure that the employees posted there mark their attendance using ABEAS without any excuse. .

Biometric machines should be operational all the time

All ministries and departments have been told that biometric machines should be operational all the time. In the order issued to all the ministries, it was said that the Heads of Departments (HODs) should monitor the attendance from time to time to ensure punctuality. Ask your employees to take care to avoid office hours, late attendance etc. It was said in the notification that ‘habitually coming late and leaving early should be taken seriously. Action should be taken against such employees under the rules of the government.

The order said that in respect of Divyang employees, the department will provide easily accessible machines at low height or on their desks. Attendance recording on AEBAS was suspended for a long time during the Covid-19 pandemic. The Ministry of Personnel had said through an order that biometric attendance would remain suspended till February 15, 2022 or until further orders. After this, from February 16, 2022, the marking of attendance started again through AEBAS.
