DA Hike News: Central employees and pensioners are going to fight. In order to provide relief from inflation, the Central Government can increase the Dearness Allowance (DA) by 4 percentage points from the existing 38 percent to 42 percent for its more than 1 crore employees and pensioners. According to sources, a formula has also been agreed upon for this. Explain that the Dearness Allowance (DA) for pensioners and employees is calculated on the basis of CPI-IW (CPI-IW) for industrial workers issued by the Labor Bureau every month. The Labor Bureau is part of the Ministry of Labour.

DA may increase up to 42 percent

All India Railwaymen’s Federation (AIRF) General Secretary Shiv Gopal Mishra said that the CPI-IW for the month of December 2022 was released on January 31, 2023. Accordingly, the increase in dearness allowance works out to 4.23 per cent. But the central government does not include decimals in dearness allowance. In such a situation, there is a possibility of an increase of 4 percentage points in the dearness allowance. Dearness allowance can be increased from 38 percent to 42 percent.

When will the increase in DA be implemented?

He further said that the Department of Expenditure of the Ministry of Finance will make a proposal to increase the dearness allowance. Its revenue effect will also be told in this. Then this proposal will be placed before the Union Cabinet for approval. Know that the increase in dearness allowance will be applicable from January 1, 2023.

DA is updated twice a year.

Significantly, DA is updated twice in a year. The first update in DA takes place on 1 January and the second on 1 July. The Finance Ministry has also amended the House Rent Allowance (HRA) guidelines for the 7th Pay Commission employees.
