Right now DA is being received at the rate of 38 percent, now central employees are getting dearness allowance at the rate of 38 percent. Employees’ organizations are expressing hope that there may be an increase of 4 percent in Dearness Allowance (DA) and Dearness Relief (DR). After this, his dearness allowance will increase to 42 per cent.

If an increase in dearness allowance is announced, then the DA of central employees will be applicable from January, which means they will also get arrears for January and February.

How many rupees will increase in salary after the increase in dearness allowance?
Central employees whose basic salary is Rs 18,000 are currently getting DA of Rs 6,840 at the rate of 38 per cent. If it becomes 42 percent, then it will increase to Rs 7,560. That is, there will be an increase of Rs 720 per month in DA, which will be Rs 8,640 annually.

Similarly, central employees whose basic pay is a maximum of Rs 56,000, currently get DA of Rs 21,280 at the rate of 38 per cent. At the same time, when it is 42 percent, the DA will increase to Rs 23,520. That is, there will be an increase of Rs 2,240 per month in his DA. Whereas, DA will increase by Rs 26,880 annually.
